JOY ! This is coming in about 2 weeks. A must have. WOOT. Sources asserts that battery life is performing well because the audio is in a native format to the iPhone. Other players that require audio conversion tend to eat up the already precious battery life.
so...do you have to pay a subscription and a xm/sirius member most likely and have to purchase the app? it must be over wifi streaming from the net, cause the device does not have a xm/sirius reciever built in
If you have a subscription to xm/sirius now, you also have an internet subscription. I think it's going to use this username/password to allow current users to use this app. If you don't have an xm/sirius acct, then you most likely have to buy a subscription for the internet access via web or iphone. I've heard there is discussion that the app may have a fee to purchase as well.
Because u don't have a constant internet connection on an iPod, if it only works around a hot-spot than there'd be no point on getting this now would there?
I'm pretty excited for this app... I think it should still work over Wifi for touch users... makes sense!
I know I can't wait for this! I emailed the company and they replied with no useful info other then to check their site for an update.
StarPlayr gets Delivered to Apple for Review Saturday, 07 February 2009 http://nicemac.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=2 Hopefully this gets approved asap!
I'm excited for the app, except that sirius won't let me locate my sirius username. I already have a subscription to the sirius on multiple radios and none of the esn work when trying to locate my username. I guess I have to call sirius but dealing with any customer service is always a pain. If anyone has any help I'd appreciate it.
Yeah, and how many of them stream Howard Stern? If you subscribe to SiriusXM you know this is going to be fantastic.
Sincerely, The NiceMac Team Don't be a slacker. Be a starplayer. >>>>> ooh that slacker reference is a direct hit on the excellent Slacker internet radio app in the itunes app store. IMO Sirius/XM has gone way downhill so now i listen to Slacker which is FREE. You can get a sub to slacker which is way cheaper than Sirius/XM. It's far superior so check it out sat rad people
Time to change this tread title, this app is now dead... Satellite Radio loses its StarPlayr. http://usirius.starplayr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10:the-bold-and-the-brave-starplayr-retires-from-satellite-radio No biggie, as Sirus XM has a free player on the way. http://www.orbitcast.com/archives/official-sirius-xm-iphone-app-now-in-beta-source.html
