So how long do you think it will take before Siri will be able to use on the iPhone 4 through jailbreaking? I'm guessing a couple of weeks or less. Is there really any reason Siri wouldn't be able to work on the original iPhone other than the obvious, for Apple to get people to upgrade to the 4S from the iPhone 4 camp? I'll definitely go back to jailbreaking once(if) this happens. But don't worry, I won't be one of those pathetic lowgrade scumbags that pirate a lot of games on the iPhone.
I think it depends if IOS5 is even jailbreakable I think the whole tying it to the cloud thing will really complicate that for the jailbreakers especially with over the air updating. Technically I don't see why Siri couldn't work albiet a little slower but if my iPods voice control is anything to judge it by it will be pretty useless of course that might just be my accent. Then again if siri is more like googles voice control it may be much better as that one actually works everytime for me.
Well they do have a jailbreak for all the iOS 5 betas, so there probably will be a jailbreak for the final iOS 5. I like the voice control on android phones. Have an Evo for my personal phone and my work gave me an iPhone 4 for the job, so no really sure if I should be jailbreaking a work phone. Still I really want to try the Siri, it looks much more advanced and much more useful than Google's voice control, Apple definitely went above and beyond the competition with Siri. Maybe I'll just have to wait until the iPhone 5/6, I guess I can finally ditch Android phones forever now that Sprint is getting iPhones...about time.
Looks like it is gone already: http://appadvice.com/appnn/2011/10/following-iphone-event-apple-removes-siri-from-app-store-servers-to-be-killed-soon
Look up 'Dragon Dictation' or 'Dragon Go' on the app store and I believe you get a system similar to Siri (Dragon Dictation is text to speech, and I think dragon go is more like siri, but not exactly the same). Both are free apps btw. Edit: Wow!!! Just tried out Dragon Go for the first time and it was awesome!
I've had dragon since it first launched on the app store and I don't think I've ever used it. In fact, I have several apps on my iPhone that do voice recognition and I rarely even remember it's an option. I doubt I'll be using Siri much at all on my 4S except for having it read a text aloud while I'm driving.
