I've been following the castle quests and I've bottomed out on granite. Any tips on obtaining granite or is it just grinding realms and duties? I'm up to the first nether quest. Also is unlocking the daily realm worth it or should I unlock more creature tiers? I want the creature tiers because my party is feeling very weak, but if the daily realm helps with my resource shortage I'd rather get that early..... Thanks. p.s. The next update looks amazing!!
You might consider getting some Granite Bonus Gain enchantments on some of your artifacts. I'd probably wait on unlocking the Daily Realm upgrade for now. It's more of a super-late-game thing anyway, so you'll probably be better off unlocking new creatures instead.
Thanks for the quick reply! This is such a great game. The depth of strategy in forming teams is incredible (and I've only unlocked a few creature tiers!). Has there been any progress on the wiki? Is there any way we can help?
I really want to get the wiki up and running, but I'm still changing things so drastically with each patch that it hasn't really been worth the time to maintain it yet. Thanks for your offer though - I'll be sure to let you know when the time comes!
Siralim has been Greenlit and will be coming to Steam in the near future! I know this isn't exactly related to mobile gaming but I know at least a few of you voted for the game anyway, and the positive press from TouchArcade in particular likely went a long way with helping it get to this point, so thank you everyone! You can read the extended thank post here, which also contains a link to an in-game event that has started in celebration: http://thylacinestudios.com/forums/index.php/topic,428.msg1310.html
I love this game and find myself wanting to play it constantly, but I do wish it were a little more casual-friendly. I find if I don't have at least 20-30 minutes to dedicate to it (which I rarely do with 2 small kids and full time job) I choose to do something else now. Too many times I've been burned by almost finishing a duty or realm but having to pause the game and do other stuff (like take pictures of my kids, check shopping list, reply to emails, look at calendar...), then coming back later to find it reset to my last save with all that realm progress lost. I was struggling recently with challenge level -- finding I can barely get past realm level 2 before getting wiped out, and often finding events even on level 1 that can wipe my party. But then I realized I've been focusing all my resources into rituals expanding the monster tiers, and none into artifacts. So now I'm focusing on putting useful enchantments in all my slots and hopeful that will make a big difference. There's no being lazy in this game ... if you don't make use of everything available you're going to have a hard time. Love it Anyone else playing right now?
I'm waiting for the next update right now. I deleted my old save because I want to start a new game when the update arrives
Yeah I'm excited about that too. I don't know if I'll have to (or want to) start over after 2.0 hits, but even so I think it's worth playing now as I'm learning so much about the mechanics. How far did you get and do you have any favorite creature combos? I'm at tier 6 and so far my fallen carnage and berserker fiend are my top performers. Just added a stronghold to try and increase my survivability but too soon to tell if it's helping.
I think that I wasn´t that far. My creatures was at level 100 or so. But a long game pause and many updates I felt like my party was to weak to catch up again. This is one of the reasons I started over. I also love the Fallen Carnage. In addition a had a Thrasher Fiend and a Servent Hunter. The ability to hit more then one target is really good
2.0 includes a "save and continue" option, so that should help you out quite a bit! Of course, your progress is always saved automatically anyway, but now you'll be able to do some "safety saves" just in case. Testing is almost complete. There hasn't been a single crash report at all, so I look forward to everyone having a stable, feature-rich game with tons of polish after this release!
http://www.siralim.com has been updated. Check out the new trailer and screenshots! I am planning to release 2.0 on Thursday or Friday of this week. It should be available on iOS sometime next week, then!
Awesome! Save and continue will be perfect. Trailer looks great. Will I need to start over in 2.0? Doesn't matter. Can't wait!
Nope, I always make sure that saved data is compatible across all versions. However, I personally recommend at least starting a new game alongside your current one. The new changes make the start of the game so much more fun and satisfying.
Brand new to this game and downloaded after hearing of pending updates and Shaun's review. Can anyone provide recommendation on Mage type on Character creation? What did you choose and why? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks
I chose sorcery, but I've literally found 0 spell scrolls that are sorcery in five hours of play. I haven't put enough time into the game yet to figure out how that's reconciled. With the rest: Life - Focus on buffs. Death - Focus on debuffs. Nature - Miscellaneous. Chaos - Focus on nuking. So I guess I'd say use anything except sorcery so you can actually apply the half-cost spells in some capacity.
That's actually a really good point, smegly. Spells are dropped at complete random, but maybe each class should have a slightly higher chance to receive a spell from their respective class instead.
Is there a discrepancy in how schools of magic are represented at different levels? I think it would be a good idea to increase the odds to receive scrolls within the school of focus.
