Glad to hear it - thank you! Just to keep everyone updated, the next patch is currently in testing which features the new user interface (and larger text size), an overhaul of the artifacts system, an overhaul of the resource system, and an overhaul of the loot system.
Thanks! The amount of support TouchArcade has shown for Siralim is insane - I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. And now, v1.3.0 has been uploaded and is being reviewed by Apple. This includes the full user interface overhaul, enlarged font size, and overhauls to the artifacts, loot, and resources systems. You can read all the patch notes here: http://thylacinestudios.com/forums/index.php/topic,386.msg1167.html Personally, I'm pretty excited to stop getting reviews and e-mails that say "text too small, game is unplayable".
Congrats as well, happy to see your hard work's paying off. Thanks for your continued presence here and the constant updates.
Omg thank you for the larger text on ipod and iphone!! It's stopped me from sampling the game and seeing if I wanna buy. It always calls to me but my eyes just couldn't take the small font. NOW I can finally jump in and see what the fuss is about! #
I on the other hand had e exact opposite reaction on my iPad. The new font's justification is ridiculous in the worst way possible, it all looks like one big string of words. I'm gonna play some more and see if it's more than just a bad reaction to change, but wow....
It might take you some time to get used to it. I wasn't too thrilled with any part of the new UI at first in all honesty, but after I got used to it I've found that I'm really happy with the way it all turned out. One feature that is already in the works for the next update is the option to change your font to something a little less retro/pixelated while still maintaining the increased size. CalinR, that will probably satisfy your issue since the upcoming optional font has less spacing between each character.
Cool, that preempts a request I didn't really wanna make considering how much trouble you've had with the font issue. Either way, slowly getting used to it, I think it'll probably just take time. As always, thanks for the feedback input. One of the new features I do love, is the red/green targeting font. That's amazing.msolved some laziness issues I was having trying to figure out what I'm targeting. Is there any way you could color code the names of the resources like that as well or would that take too much work? The reason being ease of information processing, especially with the new name changes. It's another laziness related request lol, so nothing too major. Again, don't know how coding works but I'd imagine something like every time the word "crystal" shows up, it'd be a certain color. Since the game isn,t narrative driven, it wouldn't have fourth wall/immersion breaking issues. But again, I don't know how doable that is.
I have the functionality in place to color code any text I want, and that was actually one of the planned features but the code itself was too slow and caused a lot of devices to lag. I'm looking into optimizing it whenever I get a chance so I can add it back in. It was really useful for things like buffs (which were green) and debuffs (which were red) to quickly deduce information without having to actually read the text.
This game is really fun. I pretty much like everything about it! I was wondering if there is an update planned for a feature that lets ya maybe customize your king? Even if its just the color. Also, any good beginner tips? Im about level 20 now I think. I chose sorcery if that matters.
Glad you're having fun! The only way to customize the way your character looks is to change your class. The next patch will feature a skill points system though and it's going to be a lot more in-depth than what you'll find in most other games - the level of customization is going to be pretty crazy. That won't change your appearance necessarily, but it'll make your character feel more unique and tailored to your liking.
Sounds great! The game is really cool and the whole customizing looks of the chatacter is just a tiny nit-picking thing.
Yeah a skill system! That's one of the things I'm missing at the moment. Do you plan different skills for each class?
