Enjoying the game so far, but damn it's hard. I'm using an iPod, so I'm interested to play it on my mini. (once I get home)

I don't have an iCade, but I can definitely see how this game would be better using one, especially with the HDMI. A television obviously minimizes the shortcoming of the small screen/playing field, the joystick negates any flaw the controls may have on the touch screen and using actual buttons would be leaps and bounds better than using the buttons available now. I normally don't care too much with Connector's iCade obsession, since the touch screen usually serves me alright, but in this case it would undoubtedly be a step up, while probably mirroring the console experience in terms of controls.

If you enjoy Sine Mora, I'd recommend you check out Dariusburst if you have not already done so. Another horizontal shooter of the highest quality, without any debate over controls or loss of weapon strength, and an absolutely killer sound track that may be better than the game itself. Pricey for an iOS title and a little too short, but worth every penny.

Taito are Gods among insects in the shooter realm. I'd give my left testicle, or my first born child, or one of the forum member's first born children for that matter since I have no children to my knowledge, for an iOS native Darius game. Time and space would twist into one another and result in some type of cosmic, orgasmic explosion for my eyes and ears and fingertips if that were to happen.

    One can hope.

  4. Yes, Dariusburst is just awesome, and I remember long ago giving you info on that game, hehe. :)

And don't forget Deathsmiles, though it is iphone only, let us pray for Deathsmiles 2 to come out for ios with full ipad support.

    Space Tripper is fun too.

But after the update and icade implementions, I recommend Sine Mora highly too.

Yes, many moons ago we did confer about Dariusburst. Many, many, many moons ago I was playing G-Darius on my PSX when some of these forum members were in diapers. The moons before that are just too high to count ;)

Wow, a lot better on the mini. The joystick works great. I haven't even touched the other controls. Very nice game.

LOL. That's how I feel as well even though a lot of the bickering was over wanting relative touch. I actually think some segments of the game would be more difficult with RT. But that's just IMO.

  8. Try the relative touch controls, curious to hear which you like better.

I'm really enjoying this game. Got it on sale but those black bars needs to be removed. It will be a lot better without them.
And on other hand the game is amazing. Wish they would do something about them!

I really dislike the intrusive black bars, it's spoiling my enjoyment of the game. I wouldn't have bought it in the sale if I knew the black bars were blocking out so much of the screen... Have the devs commented on this at all? Is there a possibility that it will be fixed to full screen? :(

Yep - it's all pretty much answered above.

  13. That is a good question, hopefully it will be coming out soon.

No, the dev stated already that it will not be changed.

The black bars are on iPhone 5 too? I purchased the title partially cos the screens they have up for the 4" devices are _full screen_ 16:9 AR. :/ (No, I haven't gotten around to trying it yet)

That's not good to hear... What an awful decision to make it that aspect ratio with no option to make it full screen, or at least lessen the areas where the black bars take up. What a disappointment...

    Facebook required...?

I'm in no way a developer, but I am trying to understand what advantage there is by requiring players use their Facebook account to save progress? Instead of just using Game Center that is already provided? Why did Digital Reality make such a decision?

This game requires Facebook to access what should already be standard to any normal playable game.

I remain hopeful of an update...

I'll say it again as has been mentioned several times -- Facebook is by no means required for this game. It's used only for leaderboards (so I guess if you're a leaderboard whore, that still would be an issue. But I'm not so it never bothered me.)

With games starting to nag you to post your score to FB, like on FB, etc., after playing a level, at least this game only does once when you start it up.

Yes, I don't get why they had to put it in. But FB integration is a lot worse in many other games.

  18. I don't mind Facebook integration, but wish all games came with options to turn nag screens off, cause many of us do not wish to use our Facebook pages for games, cause it just seems to fuel spamming of game advertising on people's facebook pages or messages.

While my previous critiques still stand, I am happy to report that this is a somewhat more positive experience played on an iPad. Like I originally thought, the extra screen size makes a difference in how well the game plays, since hitting the buttons is about six trillion times easier than playing on the phone. The difference between phone and pad is night and day, so much so that I would only recommend that it be played on the latter.

I actually double dipped on this and also have it on my Nexus 7. While I always loved the game, I have to say it is even better on a tablet.
Not sure about the iOS version but they just released an update for the Android version that now includes a sensitivity slider for the RT controls and also noticed there is no longer a Facebook nag screen (yeah!).
