Woah... nice. As for the controls, is there a significant advantage to having auto-fire on either on or off? If not, you can probably just put this button in settings and that's one less button in the crowd. I only have it on all the time personally, so i cant tell if there is a disadvantage to that. This may also affect the existence of the fire button. Secondary fire and Slowdown buttons are then just 2 buttons if ever. Also, i would also prefer Slowdown time to be the right most, since holding it down will be more comfortable that way. Of course, these are my preferences, and how i'd suggest for the layout. Thanks man, you're active presence with the community is greatly appreciated.
Wow, oh wow! I'm sorry for having been an icade pest, but man, this news really made my day. I was kinda expecting for me to get flamed by the vstick touch fans saying no, vstick is better than icade (j/k), but I didn't and icade got a lot of support here. But most important, once all us icaders fall in love with physical joystick controls, you will be the first dev in line for sine mora with the apple joystick, and you will get alot of sales at that time. And some more when the icade update comes out. Make sure to check the hdmi thread, there is alot of info I put there on icade, I will think hard about the best button placements and the such and post them here to promote discussion. Thank you dev for considering of icade, and really, it makes all of us proud here (especially the icade loverz group, hi all!) for you to have taken our feedback, and used it to make your game even better. Thank you on behalf of the icade community. My humble gift, make sure you check this thread out later. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2921417&posted=1#post2921417
this game is totally awesome! whilst i claim to be pretty dire normally at scmups (radiant silvergun aside that is) this game intrigued me from the start. for £3.99 uk pounds it's an absolute bargain, the update with rt really made rhe game for me though i still loved it with the stick. i love this game so much i've bought it on my son's ps3 and have to say its fantastic on both. i think we have lost track of the fact that this game is so inexpensive, what does everyone want for their money exactly? the dev has done a really good job porting this, now back to the game : ))
Well I gave up the game because the view was so small on iPhone 5. Is it still the same after update or is it now full screen?
Is this game optimised for iPod touch 4g yet? I see there was an optimisation update recently but the 'not yet optimised for 4th gen devices' thing is still there.
I wonder how many posts this thread would contain if you filtered out all the ones that were nothing but WHINING about the RT controls?
I wonder if the game would have become a worthwhile purchase, containing the default, expected control method for iOS shmups, RT, if not for the pages of people complaining about its absence? Also, how many reviews would the game have garnered if you discount the ones that mentioned the lack of RT in the original release? Pretty sure it's zero.
I wonder how much developers appreciate the time forum members devote to giving feedback about their games to make them better, as those same people are often labeled as complainers?
Really depends on how much the Facebook integration bothers you. If you don't mind that or don't care about leaderboards (also saving but I'm not entirely clear on how that's different with Facebook), then I'd say definitely pick it up. The touch controls could use adjustable sensitivity, but work well as is.
Well, the important thing is... Icade implementation is done! Take a look too at my Sine Mora HDMI and icade tribute for the first pictures of Sine Mora in full HDMI and iCade glory!!! http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=173262&page=42
So are mine. As you'll see there's quite a spirited debate on the game. Mostly depends on how you like the controls. I even liked the game before the update (beating the game with the original joystick) and even go as far as believing it's one of the best shmups on iOS, but others still don't like it. It's pretty much a love it or hate it game. Sadly the only way you'll know which side of the fence you're on is to buy it and see. It would be nice, particularly in cases like this, if lite versions were as common as they used to be.
Pocketnova, this is taken from a previous response from me earlier in the thread, in case you didn't feel like backtracking. Here is SumoSplash's Pro and Con Sine Mora List, for anyone interested or for those thinking of buying. Feel free to add on. Played on a 4S: Pros: 1) graphics are decent, even though they have been reduced significantly 2) environments, bosses, attention to detail are all pluses 3) slow pacing, horizontal scrolling--this type of shooter naturally draws you in, usually more so than vertical shmups 4) you get a slice of the console versions in your pocket Cons: 1) firepower deduction/loss of tokens due to damage taken 2) token reacquisition unnecessarily difficult due to numerous factors 3) points 1 & 2 lead to generally underpowered weapons on a relatively consistent basis 4) time/health reduced after being hit AND automatically 5) tiny buttons that do not utilize the space available which in turn forces the player to miss button presses completely 6) questionable controls 7) graphical reduction to fit iOS platforms 8) small playing screen size/difficult to see what is going on, making immersion more difficult 9) you get a slice of the console version
Thanks for the help, awp, Sumosplash, connector, Royce! I think I'll grab it since the steam version is PC only and I don't have an Xbox, this seems like it will be worth it. Thanks for collecting all the pros and cons, Sumosplash!
Good on you. Mind you, Sumo's list is Sumo's list. Look l'm not opening this door again, but I will never see eye to eye with him on Sine Mora.
Read through the thread and it's more than apparent. Think MC and I were kind of the Sine Mora Defense Squad.
Is it in the thread?! IS. IT. IN. THE. THREAD?!?!?!! Oh yeah, it's in the thread, baby. Go get a six pack and spend an hour or two reading through You can see spirited debates between all of us good friends here. Honestly though, in comparison to most of the opinions, I am in the minority. Most people seem to be happy with the game. So, have at it. If you ever want to talk more extensively about it, shoot me a PM. You can curse at me all you want and you have my word I won't have you banned.
