Thought I read that this was compatible w/icade too? Dang! My wifi is slow which causes a delay when gaming on Apple TV. That's why I use HDMI. Got a 15' cable for $8. Thanks for checking it out anyway...and crushing my dream. Hopefully it works on pinball arcade. Gotta find that compatibility list EDIT: Found the icade thread
Ok need help. Got thru chapter 1 without too much problem, but chapter 2 has be befuddled. I use a secondary charge to get the 1st door opened quickly, but the primary is so weak i cant seem to hill the beam weapons in the second area quick enough so use another secondary to clean out some, picking up another secondary charge, kill off a couple until the door open. The third area is really hard for me but i try to keep moving killing what i can until i get to the time eqalizer. I managed this like only twice. Is there a better plan to quickly get thru this area. Then the garbage shoot. I get blown away by a white beam in like 20 feet and dont see how to kill it before reaching it. Tried hiding in garbage once, and letting garbage percede me, both times a death. Any help is appreciated, and yes i know i am poor at this, dont bother pointing it out)))
Out of curiosity, why not just play the vastly superior PlayStation 3 version? Your setup seems to imply that would be a viable option.
The garbage shoot you need to keep yourself within the garbage. Best to go down when doing it, the path that is a bit easier. The update will address this, but while it took me a bit over an hour to get through it, maybe more, it IS doable. Try ton conserve as much "bullet time" as possible, and just keep trying. The boss at the end of this level is also quite challenging, so you'd best be prepared. Nothing was worse than getting through the garbage area to only have a handful of continues left and then die by the time you reach the boss. You may want to wait, I kind of wish I'd have been able to hold off because I've had to take an extended break from the game.
Tsk am gettin really frustrated by the garbage chute thing area at the airborg factory. It's really difficult to navigate that area with these choppy inaccurate directional controls. Really hoping for relative touch. Am setting this game aside til that happens.
I'm sure people reading the thread have already made their minds up but for what it's worth my opinion is as follows. Good sideways shooter with lovely graphics, let down by god awful controls and, I'm not being funny, but why the f*** would I give permission to a game to access my facebook so I can save my progress. I would love to give it a glowing review (I'm a graphics whore and it really is pretty) but I am afraid the latter two points have outweighed the former positives.
Lol you need facebook to save in this game, lame. iOS has Gamecenter but i dunno why the devs have no plan to put it in the game
You don't need it to save (ignore the message), but you do need it for leaderboards, for which I agree they should use GC.
To be fair, the Facebook login is NOT required to save the game, despite what the prompt says (can't remember). It's used only to validate the scores for the leaderboards and eventually compare those to that of your facebook friends playing the game. If you just skip the Facebook warning (albeit annoying everytime you fire up the game) the game will save without problems. I'm now about to complete the story mode in challenging difficulty after having beaten the game two times already in the normal mode (sitting in the top 30 world leaderboards), to see the alternate ending...and I must say I simply love the game. WARNING: Challenging difficulty is really challenging, at least for me...some bosses take AGES to find the right pattern/combination to destroy them. The game in normal story mode is perfectly doable (I'm no pro by any means) with the garbage chute, the challegning tutorial path and the Domus boss the most difficult parts.
Sine Mora was nominated for Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Week poll. Developers may not vote for their own game. New user votes subject to review. You can vote for your favorite release from the week of July 18 here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2908798
Hello everyone, i'm pleased to announce that we've just submitted the update to the appstore, so it should be out in a few days. Some of the changes, in no particular order: - Vastly improved graphics - Smoother performance (especially on retina devices) - Alternative control methods (floating joystick and relative touch) - Fixed graphics and sound bugs - Replaced broken capsule "rewind" with mobile exclusive "armor" - Domus blue laser fields are now visible (just don't touch them - Some gameplay tweaks (garbage chute section is now more tolerant, background collisions are not as severe) - Fixed texts (f.e. the one saying you can't save progress if not logged in to Facebook - of course you can) - Two additional graphics quality settings, but the game defaults to HIGH and on supported iOS devices you don't need to change it - unless you're curious how it'd look on underpowered hardware Hope you'll enjoy the update - we appreciate your purchase and we're happy to present you with more value for your money!
*jaw drops* Thank you for going way beyond the call of duty. That's just incredible. If anyone moans about controls, I'll personally make sure some heads are gonna roll.
I dont think anyone will moan about controls after this update, this is great news. No surprise that all the review sites mentioned 'relative touch' controls like 'most' of us here though ! Top marks to the dev, glad i voted it for game of the week even more now. Look forward to the update!
If you drop the facebook thing then you will probably have made my favourite shooter since Uridium. Close to perfection is good enough for now though. Proper good work.
While 'relative touch' was mentioned, none of the iOS reviewers (you know how much I dislike Harry Slater's reviews...not anymore. New found respect for him after the Sine Mora one) panned the joystick like in this thread. It was acknowledged that it takes some time getting used to, but no one threw a hissy fit. I said it once and I'll say it again...I don't care what kind of rep I get, I'll defend the (now) "old" controls to the death. The backlash the game got because of them was just stupid. You guys got your alt. controls. Congrats!
For all supported devices. I've done some optimisations that allowed specular highlights, environment mapping, additional particles, and some atmospheric effects to be restored from the original version without losing framerate. Even the water is a little bit better altho still not up there with the console versions - don't hold it against me please Oh and just a remark: after the update, the very first startup of the game will be slightly slower (sits on the "loading" screen for about 10 seconds), after that it'll return to normal. This is a new feature to warm the shader caches in order to remove the little skips and hitches during gameplay.
In your view it was stupid. But i think most people wanted relative touch, the majority. I've read 3 reviews of the game online and they all mention the lack of relative touch. We've seen other shooters on the app store, specially the Cave ones which all feature relative touch. Its like a 'standard' for iOS shooters, from the Cave games to Phoenix, to R-Type to many others. If the dev wants more sales, adding alt control methods is obvious. Same for platformers, if a games tilt then add alt controls to please people who prefer those. Same for Other Brothers, that control scheme didnt work and was panned. New controls finally came out and people were happy. The joystick in Sine Mora wasnt 'that bad' but relative touch puts it up there in the higher echelon of shooters now. I'm glad the devs listened to the majority than just a few.
