Guys, is this video, when played in 720p, pretty much what I can expect to see on my 4S? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8cH_-WfVps
Perseverance and pratice do pay off in Sine Mora. On my second story mode/normal playthrough I already doubled my score, made it to midway game, with all the continues intact ....so I aim at least to 4X the score (should be in the top 30...around 60-70 millions). I'm now even trying for perfect runs or super fast boss killing (got an achievement for that too)....I may dare to venture on more difficult modes. I must say I'm enjoying this second playthrough much more, both in gameplay AND in story (now that I KNOW it's MUCH more easier to follow the story).
If it may help, this is how I pass that section (now everytime at first try..while 3 days ago was just impossibile). The hardest spot is the very start, when you pass under the first laser barrier (I usually smashed my ship everytime right in the first wall...the shadows and lighting are a bit tricky there and it seems you have more space, which you have not). Just be still a tad before the laser barrier...as soon as you see the garbage going down (you will try going up later, but the down route seems easier to me) follow it...but SLOWLY...you have to be in the center. You can even forget about checking the walls...just stick the ship in the center of the rolling garbage till you exit the shaft. I just stick my thumb on the centre of the joystick and do constant micro movements to the sides (I now use always this method...perfect when things get frantic with bosses and bullet curtains). Sometimes I use the timeshift when you have to do a 180 turn in the last part, just to be sure. The only downside to the method I use is that when you lose powerups, you cant easily recover them...the ship, with fixed speed, is damn slow and my thumb 'stick' to the screen so I lose some precious moments. Wait till you see Domus Hope it helps!!!
I like it. I like it a lot. But I'd really appreciate it if the controls didn't block half the screen. I'm fine with the virtual stick (though another option would be nice) but I don't like how the visuals are very small
Another positive review. Only drawback in the review is the Facebook requirement to access leader boards and no alternative controls options. I agree with both points. Multiple control choices is always best on an iOS Shmup.
Did I misread, or were they saying the Vita version has a relative touch option? If so, wtf? Why not in this version?
i dont think you have misread, unless i misread now http://us.playstation.com/psvita/games-and-media/psv-sine-mora.html#psvita-touch-pad dont ask me why but is the vita version can be play with only touch the UI is much better done there
In the beginning of the vid, they're showing gameplay from either the PC or console version, and the graphics are clearly better on those platforms. One minute into the video, footage from the iOS version is shown. Although they've had to tone down the graphics for iOS, it's still a very, very beautiful game, arguably the best looking Shmup on the AppStore. Once they've fixed (read: removed) Facebook requirement for leader board access and hopefully added relative touch as an option for those of us who prefer that, it's a great game.
Looking at the screenshot and description on that link, it seems like touch controls is only utilized by touching in front of the ship, obscuring the play area, which seems like a horrible solution to me...
Yes but the point is they are there so there is no reason it couldn't RT at in the bottom bar of the screen I really hope they update this fast and start and gets more attention that way maybe they could port black knight sword as well Something else the devs that did this port are not the same ones from the pc/console version so maybe that could be the reason for some if the weird stuff like the Facebook leaderboards
Objection: CAVE games are undeniably better looking -- especially in terms of characters (okay, anime girls...)
Well, well have to agree to disagree on that point. Although Cave games are beautiful, IMO they don't hold a candle to this game... And I absolutely hate the anime part of any game. Especially what often look like underage girls with way too little clothes on. I don't have moral objections per se, I just don't feel I can play those games in public as it just seems too immature art, and I'm 45 years old.. But that's just a personal preference. Edit: That being said, the devs of Sine Mora could learn a lot from Cave in terms of bullet size and patterns. The bullets are often way too small, and the patterns too difficult to navigate without losing power ups, leaving you with a peashooter when the boss arrives. And when you lose a power up, it's very often impossible to reclaim it, as it moves out of reach very quickly.
Ah so it's direct touch. Still if that's been implemented in a version of the game, there's no reason whatsoever RT can't be done.
