My Dad is somewhere in his 50's (I don't know where) and he enjoys simple games like Harbor Havoc 3D and Rag-doll Blaster. Do you have any suggestions I can give him? - Would Jelly Car be good? - He's also a HUGE fan of Solitaire. I'm thinking about getting him Rat on a Scooter XL considering, I feel it's a simple and just plan fun game. I might get him something like Labyrinth 2 (He likes Labyrinths) Although he doesn't like all the extras in Labyrinth (Lasers, etc). Could you guys possible provide me with some simple games that would tend to his liking? Also the original Labyrinth, does that have any of the extras? Because that might be the type of labyrinth game he's interested in. Also Multiplayer is welcomed, considering that I want to be able to play with my father.
Arcade Solitaire: TriTowers is by far my favorite Solitaire app. It does it well with only a few frills. It's basically flawless in the play style and animation.
I'm pretty sure the first Labyrinth game doesn't have lasers. Aerox would be great too. Touch Hockey FS5 is simple and multiplayer, plus it's free. Scrabble is really fun and my old folks love it too.
PathPix is a puzzle game where you connect lines without crossing to form a picture. It sounds simple but it's really fun.
dizzypad is one of my favorites fruit ninja is cute eco punk is fun gravity hook is addictive canabalt is simple boost3d is breathtaking stardunk is online and simple but out of all those, dizzypad.
Card Shark Solitaire is great - and it's universal depending on what he has. If he likes Sudoku, then Sudoku2 Pro is great. Also Hangman RSS or Guess the News if he likes word/news games. I like how they are implemented. Perhaps in addition to ones others said above: Jim & Frank mystery Cat Physics Geared Glyder 2 Virus Laboratory Peggle
PEGGLE IS THE BEST CHOICE BY FAR! GETITGETITGETIT!! *clears throat* er... other than that, yes, JellyCar is simple but very fun.I like the first one's level design a bit more, but number 2 has a level editor. Edge is another simple but very entertaining game.
My parents are the same. They love Ragdoll Blaster. But they hate games like Fruit Ninja where they see the whole experience as being pointless. Another game they love (especially mum) is Pool Pro Online 3. Although they don't partake online against other real players they have fun earning scratch, buying new felts and rooms and also going against harder difficulty opponents. Whatsmore, the online Wifi is great so they can play against each other.
I have the same dilemma recommending games to my non-gamer mother (who is also around 50). Here are some that she particularly enjoys: Ice Age Toki Tori Helsing's Flame Angry Birds Edge Spider Ninjatown:Trees of Doom -With Multiplayer Carcassone Labyrinth 2 Flight control I think it is not the 'simple' element that is they key: it is the non-reflex style of most of the games outlined above. This is why she enjoys Ninjatown and dislikes games like Doodle jump and Tilt to Live. I am also trying to get her into adventure games like Phoenix Wright. I hope this helps.
For the Dad who likes solitaire--Smiles is a simple match-3 with a solitaire aspect to it, plus tons of customization options and different game modes. It's a nice, easy, feel-good pick up and play game.
