i came up with several names for the monsters. i was thinking: 1. cryptoids 2. cryptids 3. bio-brutes the prefix "crypt" means hidden or secret. a cryptid is an animal that has either been believed to be lost or extinct, but has been reported to still roam this planet. some examples are bigfoot, loch ness monster, and chupacabra. "bio" means living and "brute" is another name for animal or monster. hope you like one of the names....
Cryptids actually sounds pretty cool. As for the tiles they all look good. I like the first variation of the town tile better.
Another thing I liked about Pokémon was all the people you could talk to that would give you tips, eggs, ect.
Make it an MMO!!! Cryptid's sounds okay I guess. 'Cryptid' or 'Cryptids' works well as a title for the game. But maybe something that fits the context of the game a little better would be good. Rolandos = you roll them. Pokemon = Pocket monsters, monsters in your pocket. Maybe relate the title to how the monsters are stored - for instance, 'Cubids' if you store them in small boxes.
Omg !!!!! been waitin for a game like this! actually was gonna make one but i gave up on it. keep working on it! kool titles could be: Battle Creatures, Monster Arena, Monster Dwellers... idk not to good of names ive seen better ones on this thread just puttin some others out there. cant wait hope it comes out!
oh... well that why cryptid is my second choice. i like cryptoid better cuz it sounds cooler and because it translates to: "resembling a lost/hidden animal" this immediatly opens up hundreds of cryptids or myths for jeonghyunhan to use as "monsters." as for catching them...... i was going to say that ur first "monster" is passed down from your family and only that one has the ability to catch other "monsters." the "family monster" would have a gaze or hypnotizing attack that can lure in other monsters. if the monster is fully lured in, then it is yours, however it can break free from your monsters gaze.
While that sounds cool I am not sure how great that would work. So if your "family monster" faints you wont be able to catch anything. This would mean you would be training that monster a lot more because you have to use it to catch every monster.
i see your point, but the reason i wanted to hold your family monster up to that special standard was so that the player can kinda "bond" wit that monster.... kinda like pikachu from pokemon yellow... or any other of the starting poemon from the pokemon series... as for the fainting, think of it as running out of pokeballs. this gives the player extra innitiative to keep that monster strong.... and maybe if you feel like changing the "catching monster", you could go to a special guy(think of the guy in pokemon that can delete HM's from pokemon; or the guy that can change pokemons names) that can change your "catching" monster for you.
at first i didnt see that working but with the guy that can change which one can catch the other monsters i could see that working
How about each equivalent of a badge let's you get another catching pokenon so you can have multiple ones!
oh yeah, thats a good idea! the monster you get isnt just any monster either, but the gym leaders prized monster....
I like the idea of the gym badges allowing or multiple catching monsters but I think it would be cool to just let you appoint which one can catch.
