It definitely looks better than the iPhone version, but I'm disappointed it is still basically a bite-sized version of the full game. The map looks pretty small in that video, and the transportation options still seem limited. And no mountains or hilly terrain to build around? Those were my favorite. Since these were features included in SC 2000, released close to 20 years ago for computers with 1/50 the power of an iPad, it's silly they don't make it into this version. Clearly EA stuck some intern-ridden mobile development division on this. Still a day one buy for me though.
Ever since Will Wright left EA, I've been worried about the future of the game. Completely skipped over Simcity Societies, but the iOS versions seem true to form, even if simplified. Just really want to play the game in bed under the covers, like I did on my dad's laptop decades ago. Can't remember the last time I was waiting this hard for a game.
