With all the positive comments and the cool trailer, I didn't hesitate to pre-order. Now all that is left is waiting until it goes live... Edit: It's downloading now! syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #2 syntheticvoid, Jun 7, 2018 Wow... these controls are going to take a while to get use to... the movement controls remind me of Wayward Souls... Is there any way you could implement a joystick? Floating or static... I won't complain if not, just curious. I don't know why (because no where did it say such a thing), but I was thinking there would be all the old modes plus this new gameplay mode. <shrug> I understand why you'd do it this way if people only played the two modes that you combined (though personally my favorite was Onslaught and I really enjoyed Scavenger as well...) This all might just be nitpicking - especially since I still have iOS 9 (BTW, THANK YOU for making this new version iOS 9 compatible!!) and the original Silverfish on my phone, so I can just keep playing that whenever I get in the mood to play the original modes and/or want to play with a virtual joystick... Anyway... The graphics are OUTSTANDING, and it's awesome having 360 degree movement. The new enemies are cool, and I really like their behaviors. The larger arena is cool, and while I was kind of worried about the camera following along on my smaller iPhone, I see now that it was pointless worrying. These graphics...!! The camera and everything looks great, and it seems to be the perfect zoom distance/size on my phone screen. The GRAPHICS!!! I'm definitely looking forward to score chasing the impossible scores I'm sure that everyone's going to be getting and becoming more acquainted with this new version. (BTW, have I mentioned the graphics? hehe) I hope this sells well for you! It's awesome having a new version of one of my 'old-time' favorite iOS games. =D ChaoticBox Well-Known Member Oct 8, 2008 878 6 18 Male Developer Toronto Canada http://cbox.me #3 ChaoticBox, Jun 7, 2018 It really is just an invisible floating stick, but the constant movement can throw people off at first. Don't take the "swipe" instructions literally - keeping your thumb on the screen is fine. Testers seemed to be OK with the default sensitivity but cranking that down might help if you're finding it too touchy. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #4 syntheticvoid, Jun 7, 2018 Ah, thanks... I turned the sensitivity all the way down and it behaves more like I was hoping. =X Sorry I didn't try that before my post. I tried the opposite first, taking it up to the max and then back down, perhaps even lower than default. Thanks for the hint about the "invisible floating stick"! It will surely be useful shfrost Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2010 432 10 18 Artist Wooded area #7 shfrost, Jun 7, 2018 Just as good as ever and works flawlessly with the Nimbus controller. It is challenging, fun and players will get better with time. I think of it as "a little expensive" when I consider it's a single level/mode game. But yet, it's totally worth it because of its great execution and looks; it also gives a nice adrenaline rush when the multiplier goes up and your score keeps getting bigger and suddenly the screen is full of fish (?), your power gauge is low and you only have 5 seconds to find another bomb... all of this while mixing aspects of 3 great games that came to mind when I started playing it (Tilt to Live [Boom!], Pac-Man [Nam! Nam!] and Geometry Wars [Multiplier crystals, many kinds of enemies with different patterns]). ChaoticBox Well-Known Member Oct 8, 2008 878 6 18 Male Developer Toronto Canada http://cbox.me #10 ChaoticBox, Jun 7, 2018 Yeah I've been getting hammered a bit for the lack of modes/upgrades/levelling (and whatever else is "expected") but it just wasn't designed for all that. Frankly, I'm sick of all the fluff added to most games these days that's just there to waste my time With Silverfish you get (what I hope is) a solid arcade game, and if you do really really well, you're rewarded with a bonus round that changes things up. That's it - that's the game - a glorified Flappy Bird sebgo likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 580 195 43 Male 95% leisure. The release is pretty well timed for me as I’ve been craving a skill intensive high score chasing arcade game lately. This scratches that itch just right. I hope it does well. ChaoticBox likes this. I wasn’t sure about the controls at first, having been so used to the original games’ cardinal Pac-Man style controls, but now I really like them (sensitivity turned down). There’s a real sense of fluidity and grace to the way the Silverfish moves in DX that I never really missed in the original, but definitely suit the game better. syntheticvoid, shfrost, ChaoticBox and 1 other person like this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 580 195 43 Male 95% leisure. It's really fixed now Update coming soon... Question for folks: I was thinking of increasing the pod blast radius when you're in a timeshock since most of the bugs will be out of range unless cornered, but seeing Andy cook off the timeshock before hitting pods is making me second-guess this. Any thoughts? sebgo likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 580 195 43 Male 95% leisure. If Andy gets a superb score, then everyone is virtually able to do it, too. I haven't played it in a while; been a little busy. =P ChaoticBox likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
