I'm really excited for this game. The gameplay looks intriguing and quite fun. I was supremely disappointed by 9mm, I wasn't looking forward to it all that much to begin with. I found 9mm to be rudimentary, even by Gameloft's standards. The character models started off nice, however, as the story progressed I felt the graphics and character models took a nosedive - as did the campaign, which amounted to wait for a ton of gang members to swarm and progress. Deleted off my device already. Silent Ops at least seems to have varied locales and play styles. I'm really hoping the game arrives this week, as it's not impossible. Gameloft would be smart to push out more titles during summer vacation time, as more people have down time to purchase and play games. Not that I'm affected by that, still Silent Ops looks like win: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2EsSc16Kbc
any news? I hope this game arrives this week... Probably won't, though. 9mm wasn't all that great, I hvae higher hopes for this. I also like Backstab, even with it's bugs...it's fun to traipse around on rooftops and horseback.
Some impressions from cc: "I also had a chance to check out the Silent Ops for iOS and Android devices, which is a third person stealth action game in the line of James Bond mixed with a dash of Splinter Cell. Youll switch between 3 operatives with different play-styles who work for a secret agency called Ubiquity, as you travel around the world to uncover a plot that could change the very fate of humanity. This was a very early build but I was able to check out a few different levels showcasing the jet setting nature. I really like the tone Silent Ops has and Im genuinely interested to see how it turns out." http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/2011/07/gameloft-preview-event/
There's almost zero probability it will come out in August. Gameloft said on Twitter it would come out in July.
Gameloft usually keep to their set dates. Especially, when they've announced the timeline themselves. I take them at their word. It will come this week or next. I'm hoping personally, for this week as I hated 9mm - I've wanted this title more from the get go, anyhow.
I hope it comes out the 27th then.... I am actually enjoying 9mm. I haven't even tried MP yet. Gameloft is killing me with those back to back releases
I just might take out 9mm for this one...its either that or backstab....any suggests? ...anyhow i think because we are sooo used to gamestop makin clones that we are actually looking for a reason to call any of their games a clone...in depth too. Yes backstab seems like AC and 9mm max payne ...but we can do this with most console titles too as well...i know iknow...gameloft has made it VERY clear that their games are spinoffs of most of are prized console games ....but i think we are just takin it a bit far with finding more and more reasons to call their games a already existing and played out title...lets enjoy them for what they are and not what we think we have played....I mean seriously what would IOS be without their titles man..? not as eye poppin ill tell you that..
Who stole your cereal this morning? I'm just stoked for Silent Ops, even if the graphics aren't as polished - the gameplay and locales seems varied. And who made you king of the forum? I hate a Gameloft game, for the first time. I'm voicing my displeasure (albeit repeatedly) - I won't bag on 9mm anymore, as long as you find a reason to smile today. Ps. I stole your cereal, you can have it back now
I like the back to back releases, as their game don't please everyone (genre, gameplay, etc) Last year a ton of Gameloft releases swept the AppStore consecutively Dungeon Hunter 2 (loved), Eternal Legacy (enjoyed), Nova 2 (loved sp), Asphalt 5 (bleh), Shadow Guardian (liked it a bit)... This past week was Rainbow 6 hd (love) & 9mm (bleh), So you never know with Gameloft, really. Eternal Legacy was a surprise - had like one or 2 videos, next thing you know it appeared on the AppStore alongside Dungeon Hunter 2 (I think)
