This looks cool. Is it a game with missions like "find and destroy the enemy" or is it more of a free roam simulator? Either way I'm interested .
OMG that looks cool! I played Silent Service to death on the C64/Miggy. Would love a sub sim for ios! For heavens sake please don't make it freemium
Try Silent hunter. A really old game (in terms of iOS gaming) but a great game, back when Ubisoft actually made great games. Either way, this looks fantastic! And I want to know if there are missions and what you actually do in this game too.
I tried it and its such a huge disappointment after the great PC games. Not only is it bugged but you can only stay underwater for 2 mins 15 secs until you're forced to surface.. Horrible game
Hi there! Thanks for your amazing interest. Actually I'm positively surprised. My initial posting was a bit "thin", so here come a bit more of information. It will have a free patrol mode. Your base is Midway, where you start with an american submarine (Balao class). You can equip it there (torpedos, ammunition, fuel, ...) and start your patrol. You will have a map where you select where you want to go. In map mode there will be some kind of a time warp mode. As soon as you spot something (or get spotted) the game will switch to the normal 3d mode for combat. It won't be a hardcore simulation but it's realistic. There will be missions as well of course, a career mode. And not only ships but also attacking planes. You can use either your torpedos, board cannon, flak or try to pile it - but please try that with a destroyer. No exact date yet, we target Q1/2014. Thanks! No it won't be freemium. There will be a free demo version including the free patrol mode. And there will be a full version. Just classic, buy once, play forever. IMHO Silent Hunter for iOS really... sucks. It has nothing to do with the great series for PC unfortunately. Basically you drive your sub and fight the (japanese) enemy. You have to return to your home base (Midway) from time to time to reload torpedos, fuel, equip and repair your submarine. You will have day/night cycles, get awards/medals as well... Google for a iOS subsim and found that. Looks promising so far. Is it possible to walk inside the boat? Is only one submarine in that game or can i achive other subs? Please finish it. Merci. Good luck.
One question more. What about the gameplay? I loved silent service on C64. Can i start also a japanese career to sunk some yankee ships? (Haha no offense but i like the underdogs). Merci.
Thanks! We'll do our best. No you won't be able to walk inside the boat. All in all that's just too much for now but could be done with later updates of course. First we want to finish it and make it fun. You will only have your submarine, an US Balao class. More subs can be added later after the game is ready. Not at the moment. But we're open to any suggestions for later updates! Aye! You found an esteregg. Well I removed that march for now. You're right it doesn't fit!
