I’ve just bought this Silent Abyss and will give it a go as I’m also a sucker for this newish genre. imdakine1 Well-Known Member Aug 23, 2011 1,228 22 38 #4 imdakine1, Jan 5, 2019 I bought this since I read from others that its pretty fun. For .99 with iap being two different classes makes this seem less like pay to win. This might be the second hidden gem for me as Night of the Full Moon is my number 1 hidden gems ever! .99 and 2 IAPs so worth It and fun! nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #5 nyanpass, Jan 5, 2019 Good! Now, I seem to know what this game it is. For sure, It’s worth more than $ 1. My only complaint is that the texts in this game are a little small, but that's not enough to block this game. Nice! Vovin ð® Spam Police ð Nov 28, 2009 6,514 3 38 Germany #14 Vovin, Jan 6, 2019 Tbh, the StS genre is quite old, Talbs. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #15 Talbs, Jan 6, 2019 Roguelite Card games are old? I can’t help but doubt that so perhaps you can fill me in. I mean aside from Magic shandalar which could only just be placed in that genre maybe, there was a biiiggg gap before anything appreciable and worth playaing was released. Not talking CCGs not talking TCGs with campaign mode, but strictly talking roguelite card games that predecessed slay the spire. We all know of dreamquest which was the next (appreciable roguelite card game after shandalar) and that was just 4 years ago and it was at least another year or 2 before anything else appreciable came on the scene (StS). Perhaps I should’ve said it some other way but this genre is relatively young and unpopulated compared to others (say compared to shmups). There’s no doubt roguelite cards is on a massive rise at the moment is all I was saying. But perhaps you can fill me in on the history of roguelite card games and anything I’ve missed along the way because I’d love to find more roguelite card games which as you imply date a long way back. Love a good retro game so please let me know. Thanks. nyanpass Well-Known Member Dec 30, 2017 3,374 1,043 113 #16 nyanpass, Jan 6, 2019 If you are interested, check out the additional play videos. It helped that you were more specific and I understand where you are coming from, I just thought you were talking about the predecessors of Slay the Spire, Like Blood Card, Rogue Wizards, Guild of Dungeoneering, Card Quest, the very old Dreamquest, Rogue Empire, Paper Dungeons, Card Quest, or Loot Rascals, with some of them consodered ro be rogue-like deckbuilders. I’d even say that Wayward Souls is in that vein. And then there was that Tower Conquest-genre.
