Recruit a squad of special agents and run your intel agency to secure the control of the singularity. STORY In the near future, a paradigm-shifting scientific discovery looms over the world, promising radical new technologies. The world’s superpowers realize they could have the power to destroy the global financial system, wipe out entire countries or even gain access to immortality. However, this discovery — called “The Sigma Theory” — can only be harnessed by a handful of scientists. You are placed at the head of your country’s Sigma division. Your objective is to ensure that it is your nation that reaps the benefits of Sigma Theory before anyone else. To achieve this you will have powerful resources at your disposal: a cadre of the world’s most elite covert agents, advanced tactical drones and, of course, your own skills in diplomacy and subterfuge. It’s a cold war out there, one in which mankind must face up to its future. THE ULTIMATE ESPIONAGE SIMULATION Turn-based espionage: Use your special agents to dominate the world. Seduction, blackmail, manipulation, industrial espionage… Every low blow is both permitted and encouraged. Dynamic narrative: Develop and manage your relations with over 100 NPCs: lobbies, armed groups, politicians… Alliance, deception or assassination, you choose. Field operations: Direct the kidnapping of your targets during gripping pursuits through the world’s greatest cities. Discretion or direct confrontation, your agent’s life is in your hands. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #3 Stronsay, Oct 18, 2022 I have the Steam version and assume it’s the same. It’s like a turn based text adventure played on a world map. Many choices and considerations each turn. Initially recruit 4 agents using your powers of persuasion. Match their skills to attempt infiltration work in various countries. Ultimate aim is to secure the world changing Sigma Theory. Each game reveals additional agents who can be recruited in future games. Skills and abilities of agents vary greatly, so use them to best effect to complete a range of missions from securing weapons to recruiting or abducting scientists. Overall, an involving and thoughtful experience. No action and definitely not a casual game. Slow paced but with much risk and discovery along the way. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #4 ste86uk, Oct 18, 2022 Currently £3.09 on steam, I just went there to see some reviews since I wasn’t sure about this one. They mostly seem positive but I’m not sure how I feel about playing a slow paced strategy game similar to a board game where even if you act strategically and plan it’s still up to RNG which kind of puts me off. Correct me if I’m wrong though that’s just the impression I got from reviews. To me it just seems pointless to call anything that relies on a dice roll a strategy game as it doesn’t matter what your strategy is if it doesn’t really help the outcome since it’s random anyway. Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #5 Stronsay, Oct 18, 2022 Reviews can give a false impression. Better to think more in terms of risk than randomness. Wise choices will tip the odds in your favour. BazizzleHizzle Active Member Nov 7, 2020 25 17 3 Male #6 BazizzleHizzle, Oct 20, 2022 Seems like my jam, bought it alongside the DLC. Thus far I'm finding it unplayable. The UI is wonky and it behaves as though you're long-pressing on another part of the screen when you attempt to tap to select. 12 Pro Max, not the shiniest and newest but there's zero reason my phone wouldn't run this, no damage and it's updated in case anyone has those thoughts. Gonna assume it's a launch bug, anyone else having issues? Alex DeLargest and Ayjona like this. AI issues that make victory feel hollow, interface issues, character portraits not displaying correctly, etc. Oh, and Unity Analytics. I'm about to swear off of Unity games because of that crap. Does Unity offer a bonus to devs for including their tracking and FB module, is that what's going on there? Disappointing because I like this style of digital boardgame and it's got the writing and graphics that I appreciate with mi-clos' games (though I never really was a fan of the gameplay in Out There), but damn, it's a mess. And it doesn't look like it's any better here. What a shame. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
