I’ve always found the AI to suck when at war with a player. It never feels like a proper fight. The player does stupid stuff. Does anyone know of AI has been improved as part of then expansion?
Disappointed that they are charging the full price of $29.99. It would have been nice to at least temporarily offer it for the 35% off discounted price they are currently selling it for on Steam for $19.49. The expansion price is the same as the intro price for the entire full game. Not worth it.
I think this is just a "wait for it to be cheaper". I bought the unlock at 50% off for the main game. since I had it on my PC with the dlc I never bothered to purchase the dlc for the ios version, then they gave it away for christmas, worth the wait. My gut tells me if I can hold off for a while I can get it at a discount later on.

I can't recall, but has Firaxis ever done big 50% off sales on the last exp? I'm tempted to wait for a sale, but if there never has been 1 with the last exp, I might not bother waiting.
I came back to start checking for black friday offers on civ vi since i have the xr one year later i read your post now (missed it the first time) ans laughed out loud! I was such a hoarder too, but i cur back my hoarding since ‘16 when i found out i had bought some FFs, and dragon quests (50eu total discounted!!) and never ever installed them...
Rise and fall was £30, iirc. its currently £15. the game itself has had multiple steep price slashes, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who got nearly all base expansions for free. (I’d bought two; the rest came free over Christmas last year, I think).
However, the £49 price tag of GS leaves me to think I’ll wait that one out. So pricey it could almost be a square Enix release!
Both have similarities but their base gameplay is a bit different from what I’ve seen of Age Of Empires (my only knowledge of AoE is through YouTube). Age Of Empires seems to be mostly real time game while Civ VI is turn based. If your interested in Civilization VI and have never played it I would recommend watching a gameplay of it and then, if you feel it’s something you would enjoy, download the game and play the tutorial (for free) and a few turn limited games. If your still interested you can in-app purchase the base game and play a couple of full games on a light difficulty. The Civ Expansions are great but it may be a bit too much if you’ve never played a Civilization game before. Usually the base game is on sale around the holidays or they might have a sale on the game to celebrate the launch of a new expansion .
Rise and Fall is great and changed the game for the better. Gathering Storm ruined the game for most. The base game is on sale for 4.99, definitely worth it. Rise and Fall is a necessary add-on and is on sale. Gathering Storm... just don't get it and you will be fine. $20 or so for the full game and Rise and Fall is great, IMO.
I can't wait to pick up Gathering Storm! How long is Rise and Fall on sale for $14.99? Also has anyone else had this issue since latest update every time I fire up the game it asks me to download update to all my content and it does this every time even after I downloaded it already. Anyone else experiencing this?
Yep, same here. The only thing that installs properly is Gathering Storm, its extras. The multiplayer pack shows up as installed but always wants to download itself again and the rest just dos not install at all. I even deleted the App yesterday to give it a complete free start and it did not get better. Also someone on reddit postet the same problem. Sadly no answer on Aspyr suport ticket i send last night. The price is a bit of a shocker. On my iPad 2018 it says large and very large maps will be disabled because the device is not good enough, then you loose movies and animations compared to the PC release.... but still this costs 44€ wich is 4€ more then the AddOne cost for PC and just 6€ less people pay for the full pack on console. :-/ Stll bought it since iPad is my favourite device to play it on, still kind of a bummer especially now when i sit here not being able to play all my other DLC after having payed. Don't really feel like playing something i spend 44€ on.
