Hi Shredit!, Thanks for the active responses and sorry for the walls of text. Your posts have convinced me that you have given this a lot of thought and consideration. As the game is already beautiful, I imagine it will only continue to go from strength to strength. I for one will be keeping this on my device and can't wait to see what comes next. I hope this is a success for you guys as I know Indie Devs are doing it tough in this current market. All the best.
The best way I could think of would be two separate modes, one that didn't allow continues and one that did, and each mode having it's own separate leaderboard. Of course this is a lot of work
Absolutely take it in the right spirit, and I have to say it's a very good argument in favour! We have a design meeting tomorrow and I'll be bringing this up! Will let you know if you can hope to see this in 1.1! Shred It! Support
No need to apologise about the 'walls of text'! I genuinely meant it when I said we welcomed ALL feedback . The 1.1 update is already a very different shape than we'd envisaged even a week ago - which is down to feedback from players - and we're convinced it will make the game better. Shred It! Support
That was one of the things we discussed, however on balance we have decided to stick with a single leaderboard, and instead adopt a star system based on continues: 0 continues = Gold Star 1 continue = Silver Star 2 continues = Bronze Star 3+ continues = 'Empty' Star Given the limited time we have and the amount of things we want to get in for 1.1, we thought this solution would work well - and would hopefully give kudos to those on the leaderboards who have achieved scores without using a continue. Any thoughts on this happily received. Shred It! Support
In Game Currency Guys, One thing I meant to mention earlier about the generosity (or otherwise!) of Paperclip generation is that there are two other easy ways of generating clips. There's a Daily Bonus which, if you run the game 5 days in a row, gives you just over 300 clips. The other is in the shop, where you can choose to watch short video ads for between 5 and 10 clips a go. We limit it to 10 a day, but the ads look pretty cool, and if you're on WiFi it's a cheap/quick way of bolstering your clip store. We are also, for 1.1, adding a few other ways of generating extra clips too. Hope this helps. Shred It! Support
Beautiful game, your artists are amazing. I agree with the previous poster that the swipe controls need more sensitivity. So many times I crouch when I never crouched and I do not jump when i wanted to. Will hold my breath waiting for an update. Thanks.
Glad you like it so far! Was playing through a version with updated, multi-touch, swipe controls last night, and it felt really good! Update with that, and a lot more, should be available in 2-3 weeks. Shred It! Support
1.1 Out Now! Guys, Eventually got our 1.1 release out this morning. This was about 10 days later than we'd hoped as Apple found an issue with the new Remove Ads IAP on some devices running iOS 8.0.2. We couldn't repeat it, and as we had a bunch of Halloween themed content in 1.1, and approvals times were running at about 10 days, we just took it out. Apologies to those who wanted that, but it'll definitely be in 1.2! In the meantime, anyone who wants to update, below are the main 1.1 changes. Hope you like! Shred It! Support From iTunes Improved performance on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Just in time for Halloween check out the spooky new costumes for all your favourite characters! Extra paperclips awarded EVERY run! Earn even more paperclips with fun Daily Challenges! Multi-touch input support added for more reactive play! Meet the Pengz! A crazy trio of sledge-loving boarders! New star-based ranking system to reward those not using Continues! Just done a cool trick? Now you can share a video of it straight from the Pause menu! Too tricky? Relax. Weve made stages one and two more chilled!
Loving the update Controls are a lot smoother now I can't seem to find an IAP to remove ads though, did you abandon that?
Our first 1.1 submission had a Remove Ads button on the main menu. And it seemed to work perfectly in all our tests, but not on one device at Apple. As we couldn't repeat it, and so couldn't be sure if we'd fix it, we decided just to take it out. 1.2, which we hope to have out in about 2 weeks, will have it we hope! Apologies it's not in 1.1! Glad you like the improved controls ! Shred It! Support
Controls are great I just played the update for about 5 minutes, and the controls are excellent now. I didn't miss a single swipe, which was my main problem before. I'll definitely be putting some time into this again now. Thanks for the great update.
