well, you can count on me for feedback like before, and of course a 5star review on the appstore-unfortunately, on the greek one. For some reason, the majority of greek ios gamers seem to be stuck on Coc and candy crush clones and minion runners...
New Game Icon Here is our new game icon - which reflects not just the emphasis in the update, but really what this game is about at its core.
Sorry for the delay - I'm sure you can understand testing and debugging can be really time consuming. But - we are submitting tonight. The responses from the beta's are coming in and you're gonna dig it. Its a massive overhaul. Really massive. Infact - its almost a new game. For this reason - the update will have a new name. Shark Eaters: Rise of the Dolphin.
finally! now for apple to aprove it fast And i fully agree with the name change, now it sounds more like an underwater battler (which is what it is!) I'll keep checking my updates list, and thank you for all your hard work!
From the video it looks like the controls are much better, and boosting also, now the camera follows! I hope Apple releases the update tomorrow!
Fantastic video and looking forward to the update. The boost and controls should be very good not that I had much to complain about the original controls. I must admit I need to play this game a lot more! Fantastic game!!
TA special only Well it looks like we wont be making the cutoff. We had a very minor technical bug they spotted so we will have to resubmit. So - for all you TA forum members (and only TA forum posters): send me a message with your UDID and we will include you in the latest build so you can download and play now.
I'm having trouble getting used to the bolt. Is it meant just to get him off your back when he's on top of you, and not actually stun him?
Bolt Stun So there are two uses for the bolt - the first is to simply avoid the attack. The sharks and fishes have a "boost" mode of their own - and after a while, you begin to learn when they execute it. Avoiding a bite, often, is nearly impossible. So with precise timing you can, in theory, avoid all bites. Its basically a flare for a heat seeking missile. The second use deals with a very specific part of their AI. The creatures are designed to be aware of where you are looking. If you have a high probability of attacking with a boost - they turn away and take an evasive maneuver which minimizes your probability of successfully attacking. The stun can render them completely still. So sometimes if the stun is long enough (it changes based upon the enemy and your belt ranking) you can simply attack while its down. Most of the time, however, it will render them still for just a few milliseconds - enough to "outthink" their AI. Simply, they don't have enough time to set up their avoidance program - so even though they are mobile, you can plan a strategic intersection and get the kill. If you look at the Blacktip video - it doesn't have time to rectify and turn away, and boost away from you after you stun it. It may still have mobility, but you have the advantage in terms of out maneuvering it. There is a very small issue with people who have completely mastered the older way of jousting through most battles. You are required to be more non linear in your intersection planning. Its no more simply dart and kill - its curve around and intercept. You have to be more fluid, flexible, and strategic with the bolt now. But this is the way I always intended the game. But the controls needed a lot of refinement and accuracy for this way to be truly played. I think a few player son here "sensed" that - and tried to play that way in the older version- but the inaccuracy in the control became frustrating. This is resolved now. The latter battles are not supposed to be easy. They should be testing your reflexes, thinking skills, reaction times, and non-linear planning. Once you "unlearn" the old way - you will master the new. It will become so second nature you will barely be aware you are hitting the boost. It will just happen.
2014 AiGameDev.com Awards So we are nominated in two categories: "3. Best AI in independent game" and "6. Technical Innovation in Game AI" (for our biomechanical animation). I would greatly appreciate if you played and can take the survey and vote for us !! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PTRNSY2
So I'm waiting for confirmation on our internal build which should have your udid- then I will email u (to ur ta acct) a download link-
