Haha nice man. Great minds think alike. I wish Apple would add a chat to GC so we could have some of these conversations there. It would really remind me of my old XBOX days. What I've been doing with other people is using the chat on here. So I'll add you, you can accept if you want. Anyways Madfinger said that they couldn't give an eta yet. They will release multiplayer when they feel it's ready. Hopefully by end of the year. Also they are planning to add roll/dodge and sprint in a future update.
Do you know when the update with the fix for the explosion will be available ? I want to buy it, but I have an iPad 2, and I saw that the last update causes some glitch (black screens with the bomb explosions).
For anyone who hasn't checked the AppStore Version 1.0.4 has been released!!!! It fixes issues with iPad 2 and iOS 5 It fixes explosion wave effect
The only problem that I can think of is when you cover part of your head sticks up so you can get killed when you cover...might be bad for multiplayer mode.
I kind of don't want my head to stick out of cover either. Plus a lot of the covers can be destroyed, so having some that you can fully hide behind wouldn't be a bad thing IMO.
.... Man when are developers going to start using the cloud saving over multiple devices.... I dont want to start over on my phone when I am like half way through it on my ipad.
If I had to make an educated guess, I would say in their first major update when multiplayer is released.
Keep the enemies heads sticking out a bit during campaign, but when multiplayer comes out keep the heads behind the cover...I like the idea of the destructible ones, just make more of the indestructible ones too, because like 75% of the cover is destructable to a point, change it to about 50-50. It would be soooooo anoying to get shot while behind cover...plus it isn't realistic, I would make sure my head isn't sticking out in real life, because I wouldn't want to die.
Agreed. That's part of how the game is balanced. Maybe adjusting the AI accuracy for easier difficulties would make everyone happy in this case.
We were talking about multiplayer, not single player. I personally find the game a bit on the easy side.
In instances where you take cover behind corners (as opposed to knee-high barricades) your body is fully behind cover and you can't be shot unless you pop out or the enemy can realistically see you. Anyways. I think it's mostly a balance thing to make the cover system less exploitable.
I get that part, but say it's 6v6. Madfinger could have most of the barricades use the break away/destructible system, whereas 1 or 2 that you can actually fully hide behind. In gears, if i remember correctly, people mostly used ground cover, but they weren't destructible.
Got the game on day one, and finally decided to take the time to finish it. Got to level 4 during the first week, but never got back to it. Just spent the last two hours beating it. Beat the last level twice actually so I could see the alternate ending. The boss battle is a cinch once you know what you're doing. Under 90 seconds to beat the last level the second time. Anyways, after finishing the game, I have to say I disagree with the TA review even more now. Stunning graphics, great voices/sound effects, the best AI in any iOS shooter, the best controls out of every iOS shooter, and hell, there was nonstop action with a decently scripted storyline. Never felt like it was repetitive at all. It was always intense. Made it through the game on normal mode without too much difficulty. Didn't really die except in level 7 on the part where you wait for the elevator. I actually spent 30 minutes on that part since the checkpoint you respawn from after you die is so far back. Besides that, I had a few crashes from level 5 to 8. Never happened on any of the other levels though. Also, the shotgun and grenade launcher were both pretty useless in my opinion. Never used them except to try them out. It's awesome that MFG is updating the game with more improvements soon for rolling/sprinting/etc. and aiming for multiplayer by the end of the year. Will definitely sync SG back onto my iPod once mp is out. Another thing, the file size is pretty awesome for a game of this caliber. Under 400 MB? Good deal. TA did get one thing right in their review though. The boss battles are wicked. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that I got my $7.99's worth from the 3-4 hours it took me to beat SG. I think $4.99 would have been ideal. I'm sure that'll change once mp is released though. Keep up the good work guys. Been a fan since the original Samurai. Looking at SG as a tactical cover-based TPS, it definitely succeeds in far more places than it fails.
Same here, except for this: I used the sh*t out of those, especially the grenade launcher. it comes in handy on Hard difficulty.
