I wish reviewers would stop calling the game a 1st person shooter when in fact it's a 3rd person shooter and it even states that in the games description. Is it that hard to do 5 minutes of research(if that) and use the correct terminology?
Honestly who cares if it is TPS or FPS. It is a game where you run around and shoot. Seeing or not seeing ourself makes little difference in this case. It is not like this is an isometric TPS where you can see much wider.
Are you running iOS 5 ? Everybody who reported it are running iOS5.. We tested it on iOS5 seed, but only on iPhone 4.. Could you help us with it
Just wanted to say - thanks for the quickfix and updates madfinger. Will be playing in-depth over the weekend and posting a review. Also hope other reviews are revised accordingly. . .
Yeah im running iOS5 on iPad2....but i didn't have any problem before it updated today. And i was already on iOS5 before that. So i don't think its anything to do with iOS5. v1.0.2 was fine on iOS5 is what i mean. Until yesturday's v1.0.3.
Yup, 1.0.3 is compiled with iOS 5 SDK.. its running well on iPhone 4 iOS5 and iPAd 2 iOS 4.XX .. combination iOS SDK 5 and iOS5 is issue... We are working on solution with Unity. I'll keep you posted.. Best Marek R.
I agree with you. As long as Madfinger supports the people who paid $5 or $8 for the game, I'm a happy camper. I also can see why they pushed a sale so soon, due to the amount of people downloading for free. I can say, I bought the game day 1. Ha I left Shadowgun out of my signature. Guess I better change that
Hmmm...I can tell you one thing that would be great: iCloud gamesaves so we can sync progress between devices.
Just updated my iPod Touch 4G to iOS 5 and downloaded the latest version last night. Just have to ask, is the ripple explosion effect suppose to be gone? I'm so used to seeing it and noticed it wasn't doing it with explosions any longer. Was this causing problems or just accidentally removed? Without it, stuff blowing up just seems, minimal. Sorry, big action game with big guys and guns needs some power. If the ripple was causing issues, how about screen shake or louder explosive sound effects?
We removed it because it needs more then 2MB memory.. We will probably return it back, because it didnt help player with a lot of app on background with memory crashes..
Thanks so much for the explanation, just wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug. Would something like the screen shaking take less memory to implement? The ripple is cool and different and a neat effect, but is might be overkill if it's hogging resources. To me, it's just about the feedback that a grenade or explosion has done something significant. It adds to the depth instead of something that kinda goes pop. Just my opinion, and a "nice to have" that adds to the experience.
