Lol.. you are crazy people.. In many games animations are worse then this was.. Look at Call of Duty I for example Campaign should be longer then 5 hours on normal difficulty.. Best
Glad to see the campaign is longer. I think the easiest way to fix the leg movement visuals, would have been (at the time) to cut the camera/player view to the hip of the character. You could see the hips and such move, but would remove the legs entering the frame of view. They kick up too high. Physical, physical....lol I kid. I'm proud of you mad finger. You showed this off, wowed us and are soon delivering the promises. Those UE3 games appeared around the same time (e3) and you're the ONLY one delivering on your product.
I looked at the (first) video in the first post and can not agree with you. Though CoD may not have the best movement animations the ones in Shadowgun look ridicoulos in comparison. Compare the moovement animations here: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel to this: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel what is wrong with the running animation in Shadowgun: - the player doesen't lean forward abit while running to balance his weight - the player lifts his legs abit to high - the players body bobs up and down abit too much.
Frankly, in the game you're too busy surviving and killing mutants to notice your own legs. The enemy animation is actually quite good, especially as they go in an out of cover. I actually haven't finishes my first playthrough yet, but 5+ hours sounds about right in my experience. And to be clear, that's not with backtracking, or cheap repetition. Compared to the standard iOS fare the game is massive.
Apple to oranges, Der-Kline. The view distance is different, and the soldiers is actually crouching from the first moment of that video. In Shadowgun the character is standing, walking, and running, not crouching.
Lol I mean Call Of Duty I, not modern warfare... anyway, it doesnt matter.. animations are new and fixed.. Best
Madfinger you guys Rock !! This game will be right up there in the app charts for a long time. Finally something to overthrow Spy Mouse, Jetpack Joyride and all those .99 cent games.... What a relief !!
I'll be too busy with Gears of War 3 to bother with a woeful clone attempt at the same game, and one where the character looks like he's kneeing himself in the chest with every step he takes while running.
Good for you. Classy how you piss all over it, too. (But just between you and me, this ain't a Gears of Wars clone.)
What's with the hater comments all of a sudden. All madfinger is doing is bringing a great game to iOS. " Haters gotta hate!"
Have fun paying 12x more for an overdone series, kthx. Maybe you should figure out when that video is from as well.
Anyone ever tell you you're an idiot, because you're and idiot. Not a clone, both are TPS's and thats where the similarities end. I'm a diehard Gears of War fan and I am very very excited for this.
Look, the notion that someone would prefer to play a game like this on a console is perfectly fine. But that doesn't mean that Shadowgun is not a good handheld game, one that in fact holds its own with shooters on the PSP (there's nothing even remotely like this on the 3DS). You can express a preference without hating, but some fanboys are just offended by any game that resembles their sweet darling.
Did they fix the running problem after all these months or are they going to pretend it isn't a issue?
Yes, they spent "all these months" fixing the running animation for you. In fact, they spent so much time getting the walking perfect that they couldn't build decent AI for the enemies, or a 5+ hour campaign, or varied and dynamic environments, or a realistic lighting system, or an engaging story, or decent voice acting and cut scenes, or a variety of weapons, or levels that require no guiding arrows because they're well designed, etc, etc... But they got the running right. And we know that's all that really matters.
