Anyone want to add me on facebook for the game? I have level 48 guys, soon to be level 50. It doesn't matter if you're low level. The way they designed the game, low level monsters can still be useful as support.
I am totally not convinced here... I think the f2p mechanics are fair and the graphics are nice, but those two things do not make a game. The biggest turn off for me are the slow animations... I feel like I am watching more animations than actually playing the game. Combine this with the fact, that this are is not feature compete and I do not see "deep strategy" (yet) after clearing the first 10 stages, I think it has potential but will just be watchlisted right now. Doesn't hurt to try it out though, it's free anyways.
You're right about the animations. They need to do something about them. There used to be less animations slowing down the battles, but they added more animations in a previous update.
As much as I liked this game a few days, ago.. Unfortunately, the 'awesome' graphics and all the added animations made the game-play too boring by slowing everything down. I went from enjoying the game, to deleting it within a matter of that update..
Enjoyable but inevitably disappointing - typical IAP game To say I write this with regret is an understatement. The first few hours of playing this game were some of the best I've had in any game on a phone. I absolutely LOVED the game. The graphics, the concept, the ideas, everything was perfect for me. I'll admit I did think it weird I was making progress, but I was too busy enjoying the game to notice. Then BANG. The wall, being an IAP game and of course 'free' (said with lots of sarcasm), it was inevitable that eventually my rapid progress and hours of gameplay were going to grind to a complete halt unless I invested hard earned cash. Of course, for some games this is ok, but rough and ready calculations to try and justify a purchase, I quickly realised I would need to spend £30 to make any progress. And even then, it would be inevitable I'd hit another wall needing a further injection of cash to proceed again. All in all, this is more a rant at any IAP (free) game, I can understand the business behind IAP, make gullible users think its free then smash them with greedy requests for payments once they're hooked like a drug. But seriously? Why such greedy amounts? Why can't we have realistic purchases such as £0.50, £1.00 etc, which I would be more inclined as one-offs to prolong gameplay - but I won't pay £30!!! Personally, this has ruined the game for me, in two days I have progressed as much as I used to in 5 mins. So all of a sudden I'm completely bored and fed up - of course leading to deletion. I refuse to spend outrageous amounts of money on a phone game when I could just go and buy a PS4/XB1 game for far less with much more longevity. Note to any IAP developer, think about offering both price models to potential customers... I would have happily bought this game in its entirety for anything up to £15-20. But your additional wanting of greed for cash has ruined what was a very interesting game.
I understand where you're coming from on this, the difficulty can ramp up quickly and the push to purchase IAP might seem intense but it doesn't have to be like that. Once the battles began to get hard I had to change up my strategy. Make sure you're choosing your team based on their colors and skills - you can see all of the enemies beforehand so make sure you pick a team that counters them. Use items that compliment your team's skills. Play strategically so you go into each wave on the offensive so you can kill/ silence the biggest threats. Make sure you know what the gems do and how that can help you during the battle. Always bring in a Tank to soak up the attacks, make sure your heavy damage character counters the majority of the enemies. Make sure you use your skills at the right time and on the right enemy so none of your gem power is wasted. You probably know most of this already but once I started doing this I was able to make it all the way through the campaign without spending any money on IAP. I did finally spend the $2.99 for the smallest obsidian package in order to support the devs but it was by no means a necessity. Shadow Wars has no timers, gives out plenty of opportunities to get and evolve new characters/ items, has a lot of depth and is a, dare I say it, decent free to play experience. When it comes down to it, the developers are hoping to make money, if you want to power up quickly then you can pay for the IAP and do it, but if you don't mind taking some time to learn the ins and outs you can definitely get by without it.
I'm at level 49, without spending a single dime. It didn't happen overnight of course. Patience or pay up... It's up to the player.
Here is a description of this week's event rewards: Goswhit (legendary) - At the start of your turn, this monster gains Stealth for one turn. Snapback of Invisibility (rare) - If monster is not chosen to attack, it gains Cloak for one turn. Blood Diamond Ring (common) - Whenever this monster is healed, it gains 5% additional damage for one turn. NOTE: You must be level 50 to use legendary artifacts!
Heh.... We will see. BTW, just got my PSVR... Eve:Valk is freaking TREMNDOUS, and the old Atari tank game Battlezone is flat out outstanding. The 100 foot robot golf is fantastic... Mech football is fun fu. VR is going to create new genre's and there will be some truly masterful games that tell amazing stories in this remarkable world. VR is an amazing addition to gaming. The PSVR is flat out right amazing tech for the price. My friend has the HTC Vive... Rather Valve Vive and I the PSVR... For the lack of power on the PS4 the audio and video is really not that far behind the Vive. I actually prefer the PS over the Vive in that turn on and go... If you haven't tried true VR... Do yourself a favor and go see a demo.
Yeah my bad... After years of mostly blah on mobile... Once you wrap VR around your head, it's like playing your favorite console/gane of all time for the first time again. Loved my PSVR... So I mouthed off. My bad, sorry for off topic... Guys/gals. Carry on.
Picked up this game last week. I'm lvl 21 and I find the style pretty cool compared to the other games in its genre. The paywall has been kind to me so far, but I can see how something like the XP vial counts grow per level and could end up troubling. Some observations: 1. Have a way to skip animations 2. Server lag will interfere with my taps on the screen, mostly noticeable when I try to attack a target. 3. If there's only one target remaining, why do I have to tap it? 4. Some heal/buff boss and henchmen combos are ridiculously infinite if you don't kill them early. Bug: 1. Game crashes when I play an ad to change characters on the Ipad Air. Game is deep in terms of design. Is there any tips on getting more FB invites/players or what to aim for inside a Syndicate I see putting money/gems into XP and dumping my mission raw arcs into the pile but what else?
You can always find people looking for friends on the official Shadow Wars Facebook page. They advertise it in the game. Go ahead and like a few of their posts while you're there. May as well support them a little. Also, if you want to join a good guild, we're always looking for active players in ours. It's an Earth (green) syndicate. We're usually full, but I could make room for you. We're always looking for active players.
Hi folks! Just letting you know that I've set up a subreddit for Shadow Wars. Once it gets going it should be a good spot to find people to join syndicates and to help each other beat those last few levels (or to just brag about the 7 star monster you just got). https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadow_Wars Come post things.
No offense to reddit or anything, but can't we already do all of that here? There's a PM system and everything.
We just leveled our syndicate up to level 4! And now we're well on the way to level 5. After hitting syndicate level 4, we received 10 more open slots for new members! Everyone come join our guild while there is still room. Level 5 will be sweet, because you get 20% arc payout instead of 10%! It's an Earth syndicate, named Lords of the Willow All active players are welcome!
Hi folks, Is there someone making a list of monsters? Recommendations on which on for henchmen, best versus would be great, too . I'm thinking making one if you guys don't mind.
