The reason that those 3 games show up is because those were the 3 games demonstrated at Gameloft's press event. But that doesn't mean to say that Dungeon Hunter 2 isn't coming this month. Pocket Gamer said in their hands on that it will come this month and they are usually right. We'll just have to wait and see.
I'm tired of playing "Guess the Release Date". Lets just talk about how good the game is actually gonna be.
Word. Well, I have never played Uncharted (No PS3), though I have played several Tomb Raider games and loved them. Especially Underworld. I'm hoping this game will be great. Most Gameloft games are never too long, campaign wise. I play them in bursts to savor and enjoy. The graphics look awesome though. This and Nova 2 I think are the 2 best looking games they've ever made.
Bummer.... I just realized a mistake Gameloft made with this game, and it's a common mistake many developers make on the iOS... NO MULTIPLAYER. This really is a letdown. I mean, I would've been more OK with this if the campaign was longer, but in an article I read, it's only 4 hours total. I will probably end up buying this game because Splinter Cell was good, even without multiplayer, but I'm really dissapointed. I hope they add multiplayer to it later, like they did in 'Uncharted 2' for the PS3, but in the meantime, let's criticize Gameloft for making this vital mistake, by adding no replay value.
No. And, while I'm at it, I'm sick of multiplayer becoming the end all be all in games. Often times, the campaign mode will suffer to shoehorn in multiplayer modes. Some games do need multiplayer, but not all. I'd take a fantastic single player title, over a mediocre one where they took resources to add multiplayer. So, no I won't criticize Gameloft for not including multiplayer in Shadow Guardian. It's probably better off without it.
I agree, multiplayer does NOT equal gold. There are some games that are fine without it, then there's others that absolutely need it. In this case, they don't need it.
I agree also. Whatever happened to having a great single player campaign and thats it. Not every game is made to have multiplayer and it doesn't fit well with some games. I'm not saying I hate multiplayer games but in some games all they do is take focus from the single player. I've played massive amounts of COD on the consoles and tons of WOW, but this need to throw multiplayer into everything is hurting those of us that like good single player games.
Games like Call of Duty have a single player campaign that is totally overshadowed by multiplayer. I'm also glad that there are some good single player games out there to enjoy.
Multiplayer isn't automatically a bad feature in games. It just depends on how its implemented. The uncharted 2 multiplayer is awesome but so was the story mode.
As I ssaid before... I would be FINE without muliplayer in this game IF the campaign was longer. But it's only 4 hours total, and that's shorter than most other Gameloft games, I believe. I'm just tired of short single player games, so I wanted some replay value in this game. Like Fallout, for example, has one of the longest single player campaign's ever, and if a game doesn't have that, I see no reason for them to add it for people who like multiplayer for replay value. And I actually happen to love Gameloft, but I just don't understand why they'd make a short campaign. And since an exploration TPS is a new genre, they should see how multiplayer would work on iOS. So again, I don't see why they SHOULDN'T add multiplayer...
I don't this multiplayer is a must and it certainly doesn't work all of the time. Multiplayer in a sandbox environment has turned out to be a dud, in my opinion. Grand Theft Auto and Saint's Row and Dead Red Redemption. MP needs a level of focus. Without a singular purpose, it ends up as random chaos. The thing that seperates Bioshock for other FPS, if you like Bioshock, is the story elements. They forced MP into Bioshock 2 and I think the attempt to do so was fail. I believe they either have or will force MP into Assassin's Creed. That game has no business being a MP game. They forced MP upon Splinter Cell and I think that was a mistake, to be honest. And don't even try and put the words MP and Mass Effect into the same sentence, or else I'll reach over and slap you. Worse is a 360 game that focuses on MP and allocates half of its achievements to MP, but the brand isn't strong enough and the community dies out, leaving all those MP achievements unattainable. And games that don't lend themselves to MP naturally end up with a shortened/weaking SP campaign because the devs spent half of their time created a MP component that was surely designed to fail. Games with either no multiplayer, or games in which the mp community vanishes plummet in price. That's also a plus for people who like bargin bin games. Mass Effect 2 costs less than 20 used. So does Bioshock 2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare, the first one, still costs around 40, I bet. It's like 3 years old. Because of the MP. Mass Effect 2, meanwhile, dropped half of its orginal price in half a year.
Yeah, if the game is going to be one of gameloft's "premium" games and single player only, at least make the campaign longer. Oh well, time will tell, I guess. Also, December is going to be awesome.
I do agree single player games have gotten too short on average. Back in the early 2000's games usually took 7-8 hours on average to beat now days games usually only last 4-5. Thats why I like rpg's
hello everybody, the video below, give us gameplay footage of Asphalt 6, Shadow Guardian and N.O.V.A 2. Shadow Guardian looks just amazing, beautiful graphics, awesome textures and advanced lightning effects, smooth mechanics of movement (Gameloft is raising the bar) Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt9IcIbzoXY
Play Batman: Arkham Asylum. That game was so fabulous, I crapped a little. The game was actually enormously fun. Sure the Titan bosses, were a tad repetitive... But the riddler clues, were incredibly rewarding to decipher and uncover, they added a lot to the campaign. I wish more games elevated a single player campaign the way Batman did. I'm most excited for it's sequel next year. Hopefully, it remains a single player affair and they've bottled that same lighting and magic, it's predecessor carried throughout the game. I fully recommend playing it to anyone with a 360 or ps3.
