Youll unlock survival mode after a few fights in tournament. To have a fair chance I suggest being level 6 with maxed out gear, bosses in this game are tough, try to anticipate his moves and make sure to block as much as you can, youll get it eventually. Nope, unfortunately
do a lot of low kick swiping to avoid the shuriken which can cost you a lot of damage. timing is everything in this fight. choose the weapon that you are most comfortable with and maxed out every gear you have. check out my gameplay here: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Thank you for the info above. I decided to purchase. Beat the first chapter without buying anything from the store. To be clear, if one has any interest in fighters whatsoever, you have to purchase this. It's a no-brainer. One of the most creative fighters on the App Store that does not rely on button mashing. I played the freemium version, and could not beat the final boss $200 later. Deleted it via GameCenter. Again, if you've never played this, grab the new version. To the developer-Consider porting this to the 3 current generation consoles. If done correctly, you'll make a fortune.
Unless you are impatient the IAP are unnecessary. There is so much content and ways to earn coins/gems. Leveling up is completely enjoyable.
Most of the TA regulars have chimed in awesome stuff...played the free version, even replayed it up to when I just downloaded this. Will report back but the visuals looked better in the video alone and there were a ton more weapons than I remember coming across...anyway, everyone else already endorsed this, so I'll prob edit this post with a double thumbs up later
Thanks for that. Once I realized I should use the roll move yesterday it all started to click. Such a fantastic game.
I have been using the Katana but my kryptonite is those claws. Seeing those machetes....probably gonna have to give them a try against this first boss. That tap tap mid attack looked stellar against him EDIT: Nope, still getting it handed to me....
I used the staff, keeping him out of range with long pokes, make sure to be on the reactive side, dont make the assault (you need to sharpen reflexes a little for that to work though)
Ok awesome tip. I'll give it a shot EDIT: wait....where's the staff? I have all bladed weapons, nunchucks, and steel batons...no staff....there's a blade with chain for 125 gems, that would be the only ranged weapon besides the sword I have at my disposal.
Oh youre on your first try ? Sorry I assumed you were in chapter 2 (Youll have the option to fight him again to earn his claws, and hes much tougher) I used the ninja sword for the first fight agaisnt Lynx, dont hesitate to use your kicks if he gets close, and dont forget to dodge projectiles. This game is all about proper timing, once you learn his patterns you shouldnt have too much trouble #
I FINALLY beat him. And then I saw the weapon update. Wow, invisibility, throwing stars that explode, and 3 rounds to win.....that is an aweful lot. The more I think about it, the way you gain experience and level weapons, you're basically stuck with the maxed gear and weapon(s) that you have, so it's pure skill against an opponent who definitely already has better stats than you plus all those tricks he pulls. And his 2nd battle....holy crap
I just spent an extra $2.99 on 250 (I think?) gems all thanks to Lynx 2.0. Take that for what it's worth.
You can wait though, I bear Lynx 2.0 just a bit before beating the Hermit. Hermit 2.0 is even worse, he is a pain the the neck lol Edit, Im about to beat the Butcher now (3rd boss) and I have over 750 gems, not an additional penny spent, only the initial purchase.
