You can't do anything offline to answer your previous question. As in, nothing at all. Meh, good thing I have wifi generally everywhere everyday.
No a hour and 45 mins ago lol... I clicked the icon on the first page and got it that way. Anyways. They said there is a bug for older devices that they are trying to fix already from what I read.
As if to prove a point, my building was without power for the past 5 hours so I couldn't play Shadow Era since there was no offline mode! Look for this for sure in the next update. About cost: Shadow Era is by far the most affordable TCG out there. You can remain competitive without having to pay anything, by purchasing individual cards with gold you earn from battles. Or you can also get a head start by spending some money to buy booster packs. If you don't get the cards you need, you can always sell them to the Merchant and buy the ones you want. So to answer the question about the "cost of the full game", this is a collectible trading card game, so there is no "full game". You can add a few cards to your starter deck and be happy, or try to buy 4 copies of every single card in the game. It can range from $0 to $infinity depending on how many cards you want and if you prefer to grind the AI or spend some money you earned by grinding in real life
There was a question about "unusable cards". Please read the FAQ, or since nobody does, I'll hint that deck restrictions are based on the Hero you choose. Press the clear button, then add a different Hero to be able to use different cards. The icon in the top right as well as the card type text indicates who can use the card. For example, Warriors cannot use Mage cards...
@GodSon Currently, because starter packs give more value, I'd recommend you purchase these over booster packs. A Human faction class has better sell value as well. As for a recommended hero, mages are the most popular right now, I would recommend a Zaladar deck though. @Morenar There should be a inactivity timer of 1-3 minutes; not sure the exact time.
It's great the developer is at least considering an offline mode. What do you mean by "practice against the AI" though? Is it still a full-fledged game modes where AI's deck and strategy changes, as well as difficulties? And can you still buy/trade cards in the offline mode? Are cards bought with DLC available for purchase with in-game gold in the merchant stores?
The offline mode will allow you to play against random AI opponents, and manage your deck using the cards you own. If you want to earn gold or experience or get new cards, then you have to go online or use the web version. That's just the way it has to be to avoid cheats, as the focus of Shadow Era has always been a cross-platform online TCG...
Hey Kyle, Thanks so much for this amazing iPhone version of your freemium tcg! I noticed some problems with the iPhone version (iOs 4.2, iPhone 4G). Spell effects are almost absent as the game can't display them without lagging and skipping the spell frames of animation. (Example, fireball on the PC shows it launch and proceed to target. On the iPhone 4, there's 1 frame of animation then the conclusion...) I've rebooted w/8gb free with same results. Also, you currently cannot create new decks on the iPhone. I press the "clear" button and nothing happens like it does on the pc. Just a heads up and another big thanks for the 10-star game on iOs!!! Some suggestions: - Smoother interface (slide through cards/screens not press arrows) - Smooth frames of animation to match the scaling pc gameplay action. - Wifi/Bluetooth matching for choice friends.
Darkclaw needs more text to explain his halving of melee damage. Most games round up (especially if the damage is half a point). I attacked him with 1 damage and it did 0. Half of 1 is not 0 and rounding up is always .5 and up. If it rounds down you need to specify that in the card. The reason why they also round up is that it's imba to reduce 1 attack to 0, 3 to 1, etc.
Sorry about that, it looks like the "Hide Unusable" control is too wide on the iPhone and makes the clear button not work. You can still select the Hero in your deck and remove him to clear out the deck. This has been fixed for the next release, plus we'll go back to simply adding a new hero to clear your deck...
All I can say is, Kyle, you glorious bastard. Shadow Era is mother effing amazing. I pretty sure speak for the entire Magic-playing iOS owners when I say THANK YOU.
Hahaha, no kidding. I still give my support to Orions, it's a great game too, but Shadow Era just took it to the next level. THIS is how a card game should be done on iOS. I'm thoroughly impressed, and rest assured I'm gonna use all of my twitter might to promote your game. In fact -- I'm already talking about it there, posting screenshots, etc. There's not a single Magic fan that won't play Shadow Era. Here's hoping your bet (making it freemium) pays off. Now, onto find an opponent online
And a little suggestion, if I may? It'd be useful to see the resources when you're checking your cards. I find myself going back and forth too often just to make sure I have enough resources for everything I wanna do!
Some people don't realize that the jewel at the top center of the screen is the menu button. Tap on that and you can go to the Merchant to buy new cards, or arrange your deck. This will be made more obvious in the next version
