What do you mean by incomplete? This is TCG. Is it bcause limited number of cards? Of course.. There will be new sets coming. Look at mtg, they always come new sets, hence cant be said they are incomplete yet.

As journalist, you can review whatever available, and review again when new cards/update available.

Whatever people say, im TCG player. Hence, im happy enough to spend almost 15$ for what u call incomplete game, willing to spend more when updates come.

Im happy enough to spend that amount to a free game rather than paying 1-3$ for other games u call complete. As kyle said, TCG will hardly complete at one release. Especially this is new game. And this is the only game that close to mtg.

U call ur self a journalist but i believe u dont know TCG at all. Relying on people who new to TCG and those who hates as ur source of info n neglect to those who love the game. not all 300k players post their comments in forums.

This is free. Try it. Ask if u dont understand how to play. If i want to try mtg i have to spend money first before i can play. U dont like TCG? Fine.

I'm also waiting for the update to get more boosters. Also, will the iphone beta testers be getting the free points?

I have been playing this long before it came out on the app store. You say it will never be done, but it hasn't really started then. No weapons/ armor nor balance... i don't think you would want a serious review at this point.

I think what he's trying to say is MTG doesn't release half a set - they release a whole set of cards, and then release expansions. Right now, SA is incomplete, with not all the cards from the first set released. Because of that, we have imbalances, cards are missing that other cards need to be playable, missing rares, epics, etc.

I think SA has a lot of potential and it's on the right track, but it's best if the review waits until the first set is fully complete, and at least the first round of bugs are squashed. This is more like an open beta than anything else.

I just got the iPad 2 and saw what they did with Infinity blade on it.. it's absolutely amazing. Any plans on utilizing the enhanced graphics chip of the iPad 2?

Okay...I was willing to go so far to defend SE, but this comment is just plain stupid.

You are performing equivocation with the word "complete".

Of course TCGs with expansions are never "complete" in the sense that new cards are always being added. But they are also "complete" in the sense that the game has been tweaked to working really well and there is a diverse pool of cards to choose from.

So not only is SE incomplete in the sense that new cards will come out, that is a trite/moot point, but SE is incomplete in the sense that the basics of the game haven't been worked out. There are blatant bugs in several cards. PVP multiplayer has bugs and exploits (like early leavers). And there isn't a good pool of cards to choose from (like I said, there are only 2 cards that could be generated into the rare/epic slot).

SE is incomplete in the good sense, that new cards will continue to come out, but it is also incomplete in the bad sense, that the bulk of the first set hasn't been laid out yet, debugged, and tweaked.

It's the first release of many, so obviously it will get better over time. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked! And when they opened Jurassic park, the dinosaurs ate everybody! And when Battle for Wesnoth was first released, it was slow crashed alot and had horrible UI. At least Shadow Era is free! :p

But seriously, the next update is huge and an even hugererest update planned after that one :D

I think it does have a lot of potential, but ive been turned off by the time it has taken to get a simple update enabling bug fixes and even lower 3G usage.

These things are true, but doesn't make them right. Just shows a lack of care for player, and in those cases consumers. I know the update will be great, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Well, it is unfair to leave out a whole series of M$ products which are worse than incomplete. Oh, not to mention many paid games which are worse than in beta state...

At least SE is free and functional (mostly).

So far, there are non-functional cards, but I would not say the set now is too inbalanced.

Shadow era is complete in fiction but incomplete card wise. But CCGs are ever expanding and never 100% complete. Once weapons and armor card are in place, hopefully soon, I hope everyone will lay off a little. Its a great game that will only get better, look at Kyle's other game, wesnoth, for example of updates and what he as a developer is capable of. In other words, expect a great many things. Yay.

We are releasing standalone desktop versions for PC and Mac soon, so I'd be interested to know how you think it could be better... We could make the special effects from cards better, but a lot of people already complain that the effects take too long...

Yeah I don't think that this game is in need of any visual enhancements :) It's only a card game after all, and the card illustrations are really neat as they are without any added effects to them (though I do enjoy how spells are actually cast so please continue with that).

Keep up the good work! I just bought my first booster packs to support you and even managed to recruit a friend of mine yesterday who is totally into the game today - just got off the phone speaking to him and he was all fired up, talking about abilities and cards and stuff :D Now we are both eagerly awaiting v1.24, especially me since I can't play the game on my 2nd Gen iPod Touch :p

Can't wait to see the new armor and weapon cards!

PS. How can me and my friend actually play against each other? So far we've been unable to locate something like a "find player"-button.

You can't *yet*. In one of the next 2 releases (can't recall which) there will be significant multiplayer updates that will support things like challenging friends directly or finding players online (not just randomly). It's just not there yet. Hold tight, it's coming :)

I've been playing online a lot and noticing some odd things. I just played a game where my health was at 20, the opponent was at ten, I had 4 allies out, he had none. I was putting out another Aeon and then I get the 'defeat' noitfication and only 50 xp! What's going on here? There is no way I was losing or about to lose and I didn't leave the game either.

It sounds like you could not connect to the server for more than 1 minute, and the server ended the game in defeat for you. But when you did finally connect, your game client noticed that the game ended, and so displayed the defeat message.

In the next version it will be more clear when this happens with connection status icons and countdown timer...

Yup graphic enhancement is not necessary. Cards art n design is good. But ofcourse u can add special effect especially for cards that has effect during the turn (like raining day). I had a doubt before this game was released on how to play in small screen such as iphone? But this is great. U see the raining effect so u dont have to wonder when u can attack. The poison effect also clearly noticed that without zooming, u know whats going on.

Cmon... When u gonna submit the update? Cant wait to play other heroes, or i want to improve my majiya deck. I dont play eladwen, majiya is lot sexier :)

Were fu*kin stoked as all hell!
