Oh no.. Winnies wont win. Majiya burn deck will not enough spell to kill. That armor is also for warrior, meaning Boris deck having this armor and Aeon.. = GG I know now that boris will be my next fave deck. Sorry shadow mages, until i know whats good for you, i wont use you anymore. Regarding to chess.. Its board game, u know all the pieces n the strategy is to win around the board. For CCG, no way u can see ur opp hand or ur cards in deck. The strategy is how to win based on what u have in hand. If u simply can see n pivk whatever cards, everyone will put good cards, n play the card asap. I wont hold back my flaming balls anymore if i know no more aeon in my opp deck. Everyone can simply concede in turn one if they know their hands are worst than opp's. The idea of card game is how ur strategy based on what u have in hands n what u will have later on.
I guess I am glad that the armour, and probably the weaaps too, are a lot different than how they work in the World of Warcraft TCG. This is great news that they have duribility. Kyle, the duribility counter: Take that 6/6 for instance. If it blocks 6 damage or more, does it get destroyed? Or say it took 6 sets of 3 damage or so, does it get destroyed then? Mind asking how it works? =D
Also, why are people crying for a Eladwin nerf? Banebow is just as bad... may not have the same spells at all, but his ability is just as bad, a 3 cost that can deal 4 damage to any target (or 2 damage to up to 2 targets), including the hero. Eladwin can only do Allies. Sure I use Eladwin, I have played him since day one, and I have seen some counter Eladwin decks. Some of them don't work and yeah I think Eladwin's hero power is a little powerful, but like I said, Banebow is just as harsh. Just sayin..
@Booch138: The reason for an Eladwin nerf is that mages are already powerful with enough direct damage spells, and adding yet another source of direct damage is overkill. Hunters on the other hand are underpowered until their weapons come. Armor of Ages has the class icons for Warrior and Elemental, meaning that Human Warriors, Shadow Warriors, and Shadow Elementals can use it. As for how durability and defense work, yes it's very different from WoW TCG. In Shadow Era, in this example you will pay a one-time cost of 5 and the armor will go in the item row (any existing armor will then be destroyed). If a weenie attacks for 1 damage, the armor will absorb it all and be reduced to 5 durability. If somehow a huge powerful buffed ally attacks next and does 10 damage, the armor will block 6 damage, 4 damage will go to the Hero, and the armor is reduced to 4 durability. When it finally reaches 0 durability, the armor is destroyed. The weapons work in a similar way, except they give an attack rating to the hero.
Very interesting. I think it's time to dust off my Elementalis infinite mill deck. A question on durability. What is a "use"? If I get attacked by 2 1 atttack creatures, does it count as 2 uses or just 1? If it's 2 I guess winnie is still powerful, since they'll get rid of it in 2 turns max. I think everyone will have to run 4 of each usable weapon and armor to remain competitive. Since they're ultra rare, I don't know how I feel about that.
I get you. I mean like I said, I know that it's a little over powered but meh. Oh well. And cool man, thanks for the explanation on armour. I think I get it. Release a weapon image soon! (Preferably a Mage staff! ^.^)
Thanks for starting to post the new cards daily Kyle. I for one have been having a ton of fun playing AI games. I have tweaked several of my favorite hero decks and love using them all(very analytical so I'm constantly testing/tweaking). I can't wait for Jericho Spellbane to get fixed because I've taken a pretty strong liking to him and and the Priest cards. I tried using initially 45 card decks but found it better with 30 max so all of my decks are currently at that. With the new cards in the update coming out, does anyone recommend using more than 30 cards(or in general)? Would a deck of 40 be more suiting? I've always wondered how many others prefer playing with and/or if there is a more optimal number of cards one should play with. I do understand that less is better because you can make use of stronger cards quicker, but if I plan on playing a lot with my preist deck for instance(resurrection/buffs/de-buffs/item killers/etc) should I still keep it at a max 30? My other decks are pretty strong as is but any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.
What if? What if both players run out of cards, no one has any allies left or cards to get stuff from the graveyard and neither Hero has the ability to damage the other? Is the game a draw? Btw, second request, there should be a method/button to/for surrender.
I always use 40 cards in my decks, always have for most TCG's as well. Always been a perfect number for me. I get the cards I need rather quickly, without overdoing it. But I also have enough for card draw without running out and taking damage. Just my .02. In this game I use 41, but that's including my hero. so 40 cards to play with besides the hero. When you have to draw and you are out of cards, you take one damage for each card drawn. Whoever gets down to 0 first loses.
Everything is strong against the AI. If you really want to test whether your decks are strong or not I suggest taking them online. You'll be surprised how easily something you thought was strong can get decimated by a good player. As of right now I don't see any reason to go over 30 cards in most decks, but I haven't played every hero out there and this may change after the update.
If you have no more cards left in your deck, you will take 1 damage each time you should draw a card but cannot. So cards like Bad Santa or Bazaar could lead to multiple damage per turn if you run out of cards. In the next version you can surrender and the game will end in defeat...
Is the rule that you don't draw if you have 7 cards by design or just a mistake? Because it seems rather silly that you can take up to 3 damage (if 2 bazaars are in play) if you're holding 6 cards, but no damage if you have 1 more. This also leads to those annoying stalemates in Darkclaw vs Darkclaw since neither player can really hurt each other and they just sit there with 7 cards in hand too afraid to play anything. You should be forced to draw like in every other TCG in existence. Then have a discard phase before sacrificing if you really want to enforce 7 cards max (which I also see little point in doing). Bad Santa should continue to work as before since it explicitly says drawing to the max hand size i.e. 7.
If you are ever in a position to have 7 cards in your hand at end game with your deck used up, I think you deserve not to take any damage. Because in reality you will probably have more like two or three cards in your hand at that point... Also Darkclaw has been changed to round up the half-damage.
My shadow mages decks have around 35 cards. Cos they are meant for mid - long control decks. If winnies deck (creatures with low cost) are meant to play it fast. Having 30 cards will give u advantage on higher probability to get the cards u need. For me, i try to be as close as 30 cards. That is why too that cards that give u card advantage is good ( card that enables u to have additional draw like research or majiya) Btw Kyle, about the update, will it only 1-2 classes that get the most benefits? Cos if nothing much new cards for wulven for example, the update will make the deck weaker. Like now the damage is rounded up.. Disadvantage for darkclaw. Especially when dealing with Human + armor + weapon
Thanks for the fast response. Thats actually the number I was hoping to hear because it will give me a little more flexibility without overdoing it and it will give me just enough cushion for the next update of cards. You commented on this once before and I do value your opinion(i really do) as well as respect it, but again...I have ZERO interest in playing online multiplayer games anytime soon(it's not why I got this game) and no I'm not missing out; I prefer to play solo. I also beg to differ with generalizing EVERYTHING being strong against the AI because that isn't true. I've found every match-up involves different strategies depending on what hero you choose to play with as well as what enemy ally you choose to play against(I have a different deck for most heroes and play them all diversely against different enemies). Sure some match-ups are far easier than others but I've been playing since FB beta was released and picked this up upon release in the Appstore. I'm having a ton of fun as is and I'very content that way. Please dont take this the wrong way.
