Well, the app description does say... "Please visit http://www.shadowera.com for the game rules, full card list, tutorials, active forums or to play online in your browser." ...but nobody ever reads that. Like how it also says that the game doesn't support iPod Touch 2g, yet lots of people still leave 1 star reviews complaining that it doesn't work on iPod Touch 2g
OHH so that's why it keeps crashing on my 2G.. you should make it more obvious so people don't leave you bad reviews for that!
Who dares to give this app an 1-star?! That poor sob has no idea over 20K players are been pissed off!
Sorry, but this one is your own fault. You can pretty easily prevent people with those devices from getting the game. And as a developer you HAVE to assume no one reads descriptions. If I download something and doesn't work the 1 star review is deserved, no matter what the description says. Hopefully you can fix this in the next update, or at least revise your plist settings to stop older devices from downloading. There's no point in getting 1 star reviews from something so silly.
Just borrowed an iPad just to see how this runs. Wow, everything is so clear now except the cards are not very much AA. You have to appreciate the increased real estate.
So any news about the first update? Has it been submitted yet? Looking forward to some new cards and some potential new winning strategies
Of course, I agree. If you read the description (lol) we said it was a last-minute bug with the submitted version that caused it to use too much memory on older devices. We had it running on the 2g for ages, but somehow some settings in the Unity editor got reverted and the audio was flagged as 'uncompress in memory' so when you switch background music it can use too much memory for a few seconds. This of course is fixed in the next version.
Screen Name? I'm hoping to get a few buddies to play me but I completely forgot what screen name I play under. How can I find out?
Man I cannot wait for the release of Hero weaps and armours. Kyle, can you give us any hints as to what the weapons will be or what classes will be able to use them or anything like that? I'll love you forever if you tell us ^.^
There will be but it will be a practice mode(i.e. you wont earn ANYTHING -__-) http://www.shadowera.com/cards.php Scroll to the very bottom of the page. There the last to sections with blue hyperlinks.
Been there. No names for the final cards and all of the stats are suggestions. Would like to see info that is more finalized for the next update. It would be great if Kyle would post a weapon and an armor each day until the update is released to give us something to ponder.
That's actually a pretty good idea and it would help build hype for the update (not that it needs anymore among users). However if the addition of extra cards is taking longer than anticipated, I would love to see a bug fixing update in between.
Thanks for the link man. Hoping for more info though! Yeah but it's at least cool to see the artwork, that a way we can at least get an idea of what classes were supported, and I'm happy to see a couple mage/priest staves. Can't wait for the update! Also, I second the release of one card at a time each day to show us a little more info before the next update hits.
Daily preview would allow us to start planning new strategies. And spurn what if discussions prior to release.
How about them apples: Now, before anyone gets excited, this is actually just some's entry in the contest. nemesis' over on the SE forum. Admit it.. you were fooled by the picture before reading this paragraph..
What does the "3" represent there? How many turns the weapon lasts? 'Cause if they last forever they're pretty broken. Oh and the exhausted bit should be: "Target is exhausted during your opponents next turn" otherwise it's pretty useless. And maybe instead of target it should say ally, to not be so broken. And can you stack the poisons on the same target? I hope not. Am I taking this too seriously?
Well in the World of Warcraft TCG, weapons costed to use them. Say it was a 2/3 And cost 4 to play. You pay 4, then put it into play. Then if you want your hero to attack with it you pay 2, and you can deal 3 damage with your hero. I don't know if that's how this will go (I couldn't even see the picture above) but this game does represent a lot of the same things (Hero cards, Items, Weapons, Armour) that the WoW TCG did. Just speculation is all. But they do last forever, at least untill they are destroyed or replaced by another weapon (In the WoW TCG)
