Great news. One more question. I have not downloaded this for my iPad yet, but do both versions work independently or can I recover decks from one device to the next? Also if I purchase booster packs on my iPhone will they only be available there or will they also show on my iPad?
@casmi: you can log on to any device or on the web and your cards will berth same since they are saved onto the server @Noah: it is not crashing, it is receiving a low memory warning from the OS and forced to close. Try holding down the power button to turn if off, then restart and it should work much better.
@kyle Since everything s stored on server, will we always need an update through apple to make changes/ add new cards, or can changes ever be downloaded through in-app updates like ngmoco do with eliminate/we rule? Just a suggestion, I'm gagging for more cards to play with!
Nerfing eldwand is already pointless. I had 5 games yesterday where i never got to use her ability once, because many are now using counter decks with no allies. And all the other games had her as my opponent so it's equal. I totally agree that 'banebow' is more powerful. of course no one uses him currently because hunter decks are weak. I would love to see a 'random deck' shuffler that you could use online, then you would have to make use of even the useless cards like 'campfire stories'. My favorite game so far was against the AI using my starter 'Boris' deck against a wolf deck, as it went to the last card and beyond, so if you want to keep having 'fun' stick to starters and play the AI. It's great that the update will now show a loss for dropping but I'll still drop if i see another wolf in molasses or mage deck. Rating doesnt mean anything to me. Id rather have fun and the option to play with the non hardcore. Put it this way. You'll never achieve a 'casual audience' with competitive decks. You'll never get a female audience either. I almost had my wife convinced to try this game until she got a whiff of magicgeekitis. She will play me online with a starter deck. I realize this is male dominated hobby so my advice is to include more animal cards, like maybe a piglet with red boots. You make that a hero card and your sales go through the roof.
Hmm interesting approach, I have a mage deck, but I started it on my very first game of shadow era when it was released on the idevices, and i'd never read this forum or any other material about the game to know that it was the "most-powerful and unbalanced" deck. I just chose it because that's the class I enjoy playing in RPG games. I don't think it's fair to lump all players with a mage hero in with the "ultra competitive hardcore only-playing-to-win-at-all-costs-magicgeekitis" types. I play to have fun and I enjoy exploring different strategies. Besides... I play a mage deck and still suck
First off, I have to say that in general I'm really enjoying this game - it's been my first real experience with a TGC. One thing that drives me crazy is that it seems like the player who gets the first turn is at a big advantage. Every time I play against Frostmire (which seems to be very often), that player starts putting down Sandra Trublade cards and you're never able to recover. What determines who has the first turn anyway? If it's random, then I keep getting boned - seems like I only get to go first maybe 10% of the time.
presumably the only way to get access to any of the new cards will be to buy them with gold, correct?
New armor/weapons cards should be available via booster packs (you get 1 rare or epic card per pack and I believe all will be classified as "rare" based upon the blank cards that were posted...since, currently, there are only 2 rare or epic cards, you'll have a 20/22 chance of getting one of the new ones). Additionally, I believe the other four new cards will be available via boosters and (if they're common) starter decks. Three of the new cards are supposed to be Shadow Abilities, seemingly because there is currently only 1 common Shadow Ability, so I expect at least two of these will be common to allow some variety in Shadow Decks instead of always getting 5 Here Be Monsters cards. These are just guesses on my part.
As noted earlier in this thread as well as on the official Shadow Era site, offline challenges will NOT give experience or gold. It's there simply to practice against the AIs. And this is as it should be, otherwise cheats and hacks will rule. This way to cheat or hack experience you have to hack the SE server(s) which is far easier to detect and put a stop to. Q
the problem is...for favor of cheat fear...we are limiting the game possiblities...i mean we are limiting the game only to online and making a useless offline.. although many of games have both online and offline modes like the coming orions.. Maybe we make an offline or story mood whose experiance or gold is different from the online part and it is for IAP??? i mean it is kinda expenisve and battery draining to have it restricted to online mood i think its best either to make it both online and offline with same experiance points or if cheat is a big issue for you..u can make a different mood not related to online where in this offline mood its like a story mood till the end and whatever we gain in that mood is restriced to that mood only and to be cost benifint let it be for 4.99$ IAP a Story mode which is completely isolated from offline mood or maybe a different app as a whole where there is 2 apps one called shadow era online free with IAP and other called shadow era for $4.99$- 9.99$ like there is yugioh online game and yugioh by the way congratulation kyle on that game ..a very strong additon after BFW....say hi to kate !
I use 4.0 because I want the old-school signal bars. The iOS works just fine for everything else I run... and I honestly don't see any reason to upgrade. I'll try closing down all the apps again, rebooting, and seeing if I can finish a game. In the meantime, I assume the memory leaks are being researched?
I have a few decks I don't like anymore. How can I disassemble them and get all the cards back into my pool?
BTW: the cards that show up for you to sell at the merchant are supposed to NOT be in any deck, right? But time and time again I'll sell a card, go back to a certain deck, and get a message saying a card is missing or something akin to that.
No, they ARE in decks. But you don't need more than 4 of anything, so you should always sell the excess. Look at it this way, anything in the CURRENT deck is in the CURRENT deck. Anything not in the CURRENT deck is in your binder. When you switch decks, it's all handled automatically and what's in your current deck is no longer in the binder. -------------------- Just want to make sure I'm right! Kyle? Someone? At least that's the way it's been working for me.
Ah, so that's how it works? Ok, now I get it. Thanks, man. (I might have made some unsound business transactions then )
Izzy, Only cards in your CURRENT selected deck are unavailable in the merchant for sale. All other cards, regardless of if they're in a saved deck or not, are listed as eligible for sale in the merchant. Also, to get rid of a deck you just clear it and save I believe. As long as you still have one complete deck with at least 30 cards, this should work based on my understanding. Q
