Fwiw, there should always be a modicum of unbalance in any set, which serves to make the exploration of the set more fun for players. It also serves to separate weaker from stronger players. As well, there is always going to be the need for a modest difference between strengths and abilities, otherwise it's just not going to be as interesting.

As in MTG, if certain cards prove way unbalanced, I would assume there use will either be restricted in some way or gone.

Besides which, I haven't had a chance to play Eladwen and she is my next purchase so leave her alone! ;)

[after seeing update about Eladwen: Crap. Just as I fall for her, she turns away in a huff and ignores me]

What about the crashing issues? Are those being addressed too?

Haha, that's true. In fact, like I reported earlier, the metagame seems to be changing already. I don't run into Eladwen nearly as much as I did say, 2-3 days ago. There's a few anti-Eladwen decklists floating around.

Unrelated: I just played a guy with a 97 card deck. Seemed to be a classic stall/mill deck, but he couldn't handle my guys. I still thought it was interesting.

BTW: check your private messages :D

That depends on what's causing your crashing issues. So far every SINGLE person I've personally spoken to about crash issues with Shadow Era are a result of USER ERROR in one of two ways:

    1. The user didn't read the game description to notice that it supports iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 and ipod Touch 3g. Support for iPhone 3G and iTouch 2g IS in the next update, but if you're running an older device and didn't pay attention then, yeah, it's probably gonna crash on you.

    or

    2. The device was REALLY low on memory. Closing all running Apps and doing a full reboot (hold Home and Power until Apple logo appears) has solved the problem EVERY SINGLE TIME on 3Gs, iTouch 3g and iPhone4.

I've talked to over 20 people with repeated crash bugs now and every single one of them fell into one of those two categories. So which one are you in? ;)

Good to hear! I run a very different Eladwen deck than most, so I'm hoping the changing metagame means my personal take on Eladwen remains viable in the face of all the anti-Eladwen decks that are cropping up. So far, so good though I don't have the time to play nearly as many games a day as some of you!

Glad to see the game is going to be smoothed out. However Mages will still dominate as well as maintaining the fact the only playable hero is any hero with an active ability to actually participate in a combat. I understand why a hero is required to use a weapon to participate in a combat but it severly weakens those who have an ability already dependant on a weapon by making them a wasted asset for who knows how long.

The game is clearly in some form of active playtest, considering how very worthless most hero cards are at the moment. When the first set is completed maybe it will all gel together better, so its hard to pass total judgement as a full product. However since it is on the app store in the current version I will have to review it as such.

Also I dont mean any disrespect but saying the game is fine as is, from the creator, at this stage shows me little will change overall as the game goes on. That doesnt give me much hope for the game of "Mages Era". Play one or play to beat one. Though as a side not perhaps the game would be better with only spellcasters?

WOW Shadow Era is the forth MUST-HAVE game of this 2011 year (to me! it's in my signature! :p) .

An amazing art design, a cool CCG gameplay, single player campaign, online multiplayer, Game Center enabled, Retina support, Universal version, correct prices for IAPs and tons of fun to win the award! :)

Congrats to Kyle and the rest of the developers! This award is serious business!!! :p

I know how to save and load diff decks. But how to delete saved decks? Cos what i realize that cards in a deck, cant be sold to merchant. I played around building some decks, then found it was bad. But i cant delete them

To delete a deck you just need to overwrite the previous deck saving the actual one.

I mean, click on Clear button, create a new deck with that hero, Save Button! :D

I think what he means is there needs to be a way to clear a hero's deck and save NO DECK. I'd say if you add ANY cards at all the deck has to have 30 cards but if the deck is blank then let it be saved clear of any cards at all!

Kyle, I really wanna know how much you're pulling in. I want so bad for this game to be succesful and for you to be rewarded for all the hard work you put in (which of course, would keep you interested in the project, and we the players would keep seeing constant updates/expansions/etc). Win-win :D

But yeah, gimme some rough figures. Let's not even debate specifics, just gimme an idea of the percentage of players that are ACTUALLY buying IAP.

I'm suspecting something around 10%, is that close or way off?

Oh, here's another issue (this time considering wording consistency).

Ter Adun has the ability to destroy items. But, what exactly is an "item"?

It can't be what's in the Item slot in the game, because I've run into situations when the opponent casts things into that slot that I can't destroy.

And that's a wording consistency problem. If it goes into that area, it SHOULD be an item. But they are named "abilities" most of the time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, there isn't MUCH Ter Adun can actually destroy.

Edit: just looked at the card list. There are only FOUR Items in the entire game. This needs to be address. Right now, Ter Adun is only good Portal-hate, and nothing else.

This is what should be done, IMHO: turn some of the abilities into Items. It'd make item-destructing a little less useless.

Yeah, Sandra needs some fixing, too. It's a Here Be Monsters for only 1 more, but that leaves a body on the table for attacking. Waaaaaay broken.

    Poison Gas & Engulfing Flames

Are Poison Gas & Engulfing Flames cumulative???

If I cast more than one on a Hero, will it take more than 1 damage each turn?

I use Here be Monsters just to avoid Sandra on the 4th turn :| but it's nowhere near as good.
Also cards should always go to the graveyard of their original owner. Right now Mind Control/Transference permanently steal the card.
Will there ever be a trading system in-game or an auction system (a la Battleforge)? I can see it getting a lot of use if the merchant would sell out a lot quicker.
and I hope the next update will have a shadow protector like Aeon :D
Also how about some achievements for later updates? (Collect all cards, collect all cards from booster X, win a game without using allies/items/abilities, win at least one game with every hero, etc)

Whoa! PERMANENTLY?! You mean for the game or forever? Forever would be ridiculous.
