Yes I do plan to add the flavor text when the cards are finalized. Besides Hero and Monster cards, there are weapons, armor, spells and abilities.

Thanks for the info about the Marvel TCG, I didn't know about that. Based on the gameplay videos I saw, Shadow Era's gameplay is very similar in that the cards are animated in 3d like that. Darn now it seems like I ripped their idea, but I'll take a further look to get some more good ideas heheh

    New page, new pic! :D

Being a hardcore Magic player, I had a hard time getting into that Marvel TCG. And, I found Orions to have mastered the perfect balance between simple to learn but deep in strategy. Remember, you don't want just the hardcore TCG nerds like myself buying the game - that wouldn't be a good plan. It should be simple enough that an interested party could see himself playing the game after exploring the app for a while.

I say, studying Orions strenghts would not at ALL be a bad idea. Orions had SOOOOOO much potential, if only the developers had realized it. Online mode + in-app transactions for new cards would have made that game huge hit.

    You are either:

    1) 13
    2) Unexperienced with even basic-level Magic the Gathering gameplay
    3) Both

Seriously, the depth of Magic makes Yu Gi Oh look like Tic Tac Toe.

I am 13 and have played Magic a long time with my dad. The game is amazing. I have played with the basic cards a while, but now I use more advanced cards :)

I know, there is so Much depth in MTG. Its absolutely amazing.

@IzzyNobre : i must disagree here , try the 5D episode on psp if you have the occasion one day, but this game is not as simple as you think.
I was thinking the same as you (yu gi oh for childs etc...) until i tried this game on psp for "fun" , some mechanisms are far more complicated to use than the classic MTG system (especially ritual decks) ; but i'm not a big fan of the cards design overall , MTG is a lot better on this point.

and i'm an old magic player too (3rd edition back to 1993/1994 if i recall correctly) , to magic 2010 (well i did some long pauses) nowadays : it's always as fun to play but my favourite CCG was definitively Middle Earth (The Wizards, by ICE , not the crappy movie based one) , was a bit difficult to learn but it was an exceptionnal CCG IMO.

    @Kyle : you said hero cards ? a pic a pic ! :D

I wasn't necessarily calling Yu Gi Oh a game for children, I must have misspoke. What I meant to say is that it is NOT the most deep TCG around; it's quite elementary when you compare it to Magic :)

Younger kids tend to prefer Yu Gi Oh because of the namesake cartoon and all, which is why I assumed someone that holds the game in such high regard must be a young'un. Apologies if I sounded arrogant, it wasn't my intention.

Yeah, Marvel/VS is a bit different, but it still has a lot of depth to it, like Magic. I think Orions is a good game, but not as challenging or thought provoking as the others, partially because the resource management is much more automated. I can understand the point about scaring off less hardcore TCG fans, but I think this could be handled by having a basic version and a more advanced version, much like what Magic has.

Yu Gi Oh is largely only popular because of the TV show.

@Izzy : no problem , it's not arrogance at all , and i agree about YuGiOh being popular because of the TV Show , but the game mechanics surprised me when i tried this game as i was thinking "a game for childs in elementary school as pokemon is" , but childs tends to collect cards for fun (or simply being popular with friends) and rarely play with , it's more a "i got the legendary gold dragon dude ! oh trade me this card ! i have the omega steel golem :D " story .

Kyle ! we want heroes ! heroes ! vote with me dudes ! :b a nice sexy heroin with a lance and light armor , a valkyrie ! a royo-like girl ! don't forget the #1 rule in fantasy with girls : less armor = better protection :D

(well with apple censoring any "sexy" thing for appstore , it's a dangerous territory now :s )

ps : this medusa-hydra hybrid is somewhat sexy.... somewhat... :b
