Huh... That's weird. Wulven Studios is down too... Wonder what's going on.

Our server host needed to reboot our machine, and unfortunately the startup items were misconfigured
But a great thing to happen in early beta heheh

There will be a ton of offline single player missions, plus you can do a quick game any time. The cards are controlled on the server, so you will need to log in at least once to create your account, and again each time you earn or want to buy new cards. But once they are downloaded to your device, you can still use the new cards offline.

The AI will ramp in difficulty based on your RPG-style level and experience, both in terms of the cards the AI has available and the strategies it uses against you

Wow, this sounds AWESOME! So the player will level up based on their skill, thus changing the difficulty of the AI?--that is so cool.

Been trying out the Beta, and I have to say that this game is EXTREMELY promising!

Have only played the beta for about 2 hours, I think the learning curve is good, I have never played this type of game before so will take a while to work out the tricks. I like the style and it runs well. I would like to see how it all works on the idevices though.
    So far so good though.

Woah! Been searching for a quality online TCG for months...
So far everything looks awesome and bet this game gonna top most if not all i-apps with this artwork.
I'm no hardcore tcg player but i just love opening boosters :p
The online game 'Battleforge' (tcg-strategy hybrid)had so nice booster pack opening animations and sounds, although gameplay wasn't that good but i kept playing simply to get more boosters. The one small thing thats missing so far from the card pictures you've shown (in my opinion) is a more clearer way to see whether a card is uncommon, rare or epic... . For example, Battleforge had a tiny symbol at bottom right corner of the cards which came in different colours depending on rarity of cards. It didn't mess up the card design and was more noticeable and so when you look at the card you could see that its rare or not in a split second. The top right corner of shadow era cards are empty, so it would make the card feel more detailed with a small symbol?
Shadow Era got way nicer artwork and great gameplay, couldn't even compare, just that I would love to see this kind of thing in the game ^^

Heres a youtube where a guy buys and opens some boosters in Battleforge if ya considering it.
(Card labels are in german on this video which spoils it a bit)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqf_6L98lzA&feature=related
When the guy opens booster, the top left corner card is always either rare or ultra rare(1/6 chance),the next 2 to the right are uncommon, rest are common. In his third and fourth pack thers an ultra rare card. The boosters could be bought from ingame points (250 BF points) and the rare and even ultra rare cards could be really bad worthing less than 20 or 10 BF points or it could worth fortunes.
The expansion pack of the gagme offered a new type of booster (wearing the name of the expansion)
in which only cards from the expansion were to be found.
And with 1200 BF points you could buy a Tome which had 6 boosters for the price of 5,it had 3 normal boosters and 3 from the game's expansion, which was both good and bad as the rares and ultra rares of the expansion were mostly weaker (cheaper) except some but it had way better uncommons.
Also if the game has 200 cards, a booster having 15 cards ain't too many? 8 was more than enough in this game. Even with this we had way more commons and uncommon than what we needed and had to sell tonnes of commons for 1-2 BF points price everyday in auction house.
I know most TCG games got these features but as you told you are interested in taking ideas from good games, so i thought of posting it :)
Good luck with the game! Can't wait for you gameplay video and open-beta ;)

Edit: I'm explaining all this coz i'm not sure that any of you guys played the game,it wasn't a CCG but a TCG-strategy. These are some features that made this game really good and addicting on the booster and card design (not artwork) part. As your game is flawless on gameplay and artwork part, with this it would be just better and give more spice on the booster part which is what makes you the profits after all ;) (being a free to play game). In this game these things i mentioned above made people to focus more on boosters than they normally would. You don't see much booster opening videos for other trading card games,do you? :p

PS: I was really surprised that there were so many TCGs for iphone, but then discovered that Moonga lacks cards (although the cards have really good abilities, for example;one card will deal as much damage as the othe amount of power/mana the other player uses against it and another card makes the amount of health points the player has with the opponent's health points,so as you can see that your opponent has this card from ebginning of the game, you'll need a whole different strategy to beat him( you should make yourself be loosing till he plays the card which makes you get the benefit out of it) which would have made it a good game if not for only 5 playable cards and everyone having same cards as there arent many cards) ,Urban rivals had plenty of cards but its gameplay was plain nonsense,it even has many types of boosters which would make it exciting but all the cards are bloody same (with higher or lower numbers)... only their attack and damage values different (i dont get why some people say it is a top online and iphone TCG). Also Arena 9 (Japanese iPhone TCG) has a kinda good gameplay but cards only having numbers makes not to care for boosters. And well Orions i hear is pretty good at gameplay with bad graphics and artwork. And so far I see Shadow Era has all the things these lack,so thumbs up :)

Thanks for the info Benjee007, I just bought Battle Forge from Steam and will check it out to steal ideas from! Ummmm... no.... I mean.... nevermind :p

I agree that part of the fun in buying booster packs is the anticipation of what you will get, and we certainly plan to present that in the best way possible, like what you described.

For card rarity, in Shadow Era the card number text at the bottom is colored like the standard RPG item colors: white is common, green is uncommon, blue is rare, purple is epic

Oh ok cool, didn't notice the card number text thingy
And as you said the boosters will be presented in similar way,I don't think I could ask for more :p
And yes do that  I miss those features of this game
Another thing i liked in Battleforge was its Auction House and the sound effect of the mail when you sold some item in the auctions. The sound came even when i was in middle of match, and it was like '' who cares about this match even if im losing! I just sold card x from which i can buy card y''
Hope everything will work out well and we'll get our TCG of the year soon ;)

Edit: Its page 50,a picture please? :D Tho i guess everyone who posted here moved to shadowera.com,i shall do the same.
I've listened to the game music and found them all fitting into the game theme.
Specially the first one (don't remember name) where suddenly a woman starts singing, awesome :D
Also some card abilities i thought of:

Cannibalize (Hero or Unit spell or ability)- Steal X Health from target ally (same race as hero or unit)
Corrosion (Spell)- Target unit cannot defend till death. (As armor is rusted or sumfin)
Shower of Acid (spell)- The multiple target version of corrosion (Artwork of acid melting away the armor of an army of soldiers)
Rabies- Causes target enemy ally to attack a random nearby ally for x turn(s)
Moonlight(Spell)- All werewolves/wolves gain + x attack (both your ally and enemy ally).
Or it could be like: If this spell is cast, you can put any wulven allies from your hand into the play with no/reduced resource cost
Flute of xxx (Item/spell)- Makes x unit(s) to go into sleep and therefore cannot attack for x turns.
Also thought about a hedgehog kind of ability/spell if it doesn't already existt in the game.
Like, If enemy ally hits this card,it suffer x damage.
Or Spell version: If enemy ally hits card x,it will suffer same amount of damage to itself.
And this could be used as a rare spell for ultimate hero protection, like: For one round all enemy allies who attack the hero, suffer the same damage they inflict on it. So the oppponent has to choose between either a suicidal attack or is forced to attack the allies of the player.

Kyle these cards look like a barely modified template from the actual WoW TCG. You sure you want to draw Blizzard's attention?

Funny: the WoW TCG cards look like a barely modified template from Magic the Gathering.

Apperantly the whole card design is being changed so it probably aint much of an issue anymore unless it is about the gameplay

    Lol.

I've never played a card game like this, but this will certainly be the one to break my cherry...so to speak.

Wow, just found out about this game from the TA banner.
    Looks really awesome.

I have been addicted to Arena 9 recently, but it seems lacking the details of a good TCG.
Can't wait to try out this game.

When is it going to be released? Is there any open beta?

Still loving the Beta Kyle! The new format looks nicer! I missed out on 1.04, but this version is great! One thing I'd suggest is different animations for the different weapon types. Currently they're all swords, but some monsters use claws, or Bella Donna uses magic. There should be proper animations for those! Sorry if this has already been addressed :/
