Those do look great Kyle, and with you on the dev team I am sure that it wil play well too! Let us know soon what this game is about I need to know what I am supposed to be excited for...
Hmm, makes it sound like a card game or something similar. You've got my interest. Edit: I'll be pretty disappointed if this doesn't have the coolest app icon ever
My thoughts exactly, although I was thinking more "WoW / Magic: The Gathering!" Look good, though...whatever it is
Congrats to Theocracy for being the first to guess! Announcing Shadow Era, a free to play collectible card game for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad! Inspired by more strategic card games such as Magic the Gathering and World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, you will build a deck from a total of 300 unique cards with some of the most amazing art you have ever seen. Complete missions against the Shadow Warriors, or battle against other players to gain experience, and win new card packs each time you level up!
you mean , the 300 cards will be free ? no cards to buy or anything ? sounds amazing if so. because i don't like to buy 'virtual' cards except if the price is very very cheap. There is a recent CCG , Moonga, not bad , but boosters are too expensive IMO i would have prefered to pay 10$ for the full game, over a free game with priced boosters.
Uber-awesome I have been waiting for a good RPG card game for the iPod touch. I hated moonga, but love Magic: the gathering. You should make new sees of cards too. Can you explain how the game is going to work?
Looks interesting, how's it going to be funded? Game balance is definitely going to be the factor that decides whether this rules or sucks.
Now we're talkin! Man I hope this is at least as good as Orions which still holds the spot of best TCG on the iTouch (For Me ) if not better.
The core card game is similar to the WoW TCG. Each side has a main Hero character, and you can recruit Allies to join the battle. The objective is simply to kill the enemy Hero, but obviously the challenge is to also keep your own Hero alive. Should you take out the enemy Allies first, or go straight for the Hero? That's for you to decide... To further add to the strategy, there are weapon and armor cards to improve your Hero's stats, as well as ability and spell cards. You start off with a pre-constructed deck of 30 cards. You can choose your starting Hero deck, from Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, or Warrior. There are also male and female versions of each. Beyond the core game, there is a RPG style level progression and tournament ladder. You can complete missions against the Shadow Warriors, or challenge other player's decks. Each battle you fight will gain you experience, and at each level you will be rewarded with Novice Card Packs which contain 3 random common cards. At higher levels you can start to earn Expert Card Packs which have a chance of uncommon cards. Since I have to eat, booster packs will be available for $0.99 which have 10 random cards, with a few uncommon or rare cards. Of course expansion packs are also planned in the future.
Sounds cool - I don't know the WoW TCG, so I don't know how it's played. But if it's more similar to Magic/Orions than to Moonga/Urban Rivals, I'll be happy. Of course, being free is a great thing - so will definitely try it at least.
