There is some controversy with a certain other upcoming iPhone card game and copied art... Well I would like to confirm that all the amazing art in Shadow Era is completely original by some of the most talented artists from around the globe. No hacks here! Our art budget is over $30,000 for this project.... Here are some of the artists galleries. If you are clever, you can dig up some more Shadow Era art that has not been revealed yet http://loztvampir3.deviantart.com/ http://dypsomaniart.deviantart.com/ http://scarypet.deviantart.com/
Well it´s not the most amazing art I have ever seen, but maybe the game is good. Only time will tell.
Ya, we're going to Ask you about when you're going to start the beta/post gameplay video. Lol, JK. You're right, no news Are good news.
Kyle, don't no if this has been asked before but since there is so many pages on this thread I can't be bother scanning the pages. My question is will there be offline bluetooth 2 player. Would be cool to battle friends with the game and not have to worry about being connected to the internet as we have touches not iphones and don't always have access to internet.
I think all the cards will be only on the server. So I dint think that will be possible. Hmm I see a lot of backlash if some offline play isn't put somehow. Good point
Offline bluetooth is a good idea, it will likely be added in an update after the initial launch. Currently in offline mode you can still play quick games against the AI, but can not earn any more cards until you are online.
Lol, Kongai sucks... Playing games and Get achivements to Get cards Are cool, but only 3 cards at one time make it bad. Real TCG must give you the chance to have a big, complex deck, it must have cards with 2nd effects easy to learn and 2nd effects harder to learn, but more powerful... Kongai is more of a turn based strategy game than a TCG IMHO... Shadow era look like it will be an amazing game, not like Kongai and Urban rivals...
This game looks magnificent! Come on! Lets get a beta! Or even a video! It would be so much fun to have cards interact and support each other. How like tribal themed decks such as goblins or elves work with each other to increase their power when played together and open up new strategies. Or how cards in combo decks seem weak or situational on their own, but when played strategically with other cards can form devastating combos. If anyone knows or plays MTG, they will be familiar to this. It really adds a wonderful element to the game, in my opinion, half the fun in tcgs are thinking of ideas for decks and trying to put them together that works as smoothly as possible. For example, lets say we have a card named "Grave Walker", It has a fairly high playing cost and low attack power. At a glance, it seems inefficient to hard cast it to the field, almost a waste. Now give it a cool / interesting ability, we'll name it "Grave Pact", it reads "When ever a card is discarded by you or an opponent, you may return all cards named Grave Walker from your graveyard, to the field. If Grave Walker enters the battlefield this way, Grave Walker gains +2 /+2, -you may also draw 2 cards OR search your deck for 1 other creature or spell with Grave Pact and place it into your graveyard ." Then possibly include different spells with different abilities that cause opponents to discard cards, have some effect when cards are drawn, send cards from your library to your grave, ect. Or even spells that counter other spells like Grave Walker mentioned above that someone may consider running in their deck to prevent such a threat . For example "Spirit Healer" "Sacrifice Spirit Healer to remove up to 3 target cards from an opponents graveyard. You gain 3 life. This ability may be played as an interrupt" Make it up to the player to decide which cards would work best for different themed decks and which cards to use to counter decks that opponents may be playing. Have decks that focus on fast, quick paced attacks with spells that inflict direct damage and overwhelming, relentless attacks, and other decks that focus on controlling their opponent, whether its causing them to discard cards, remove creatures from the field, prevent opponents from playing spells, mind controlling opponent creatures while slowly losing life, ect. Decks should require strategy and thoughts. People should have a goal with a certain play style or mechanic they want to abuse. Not a randomly thrown together deck with the largest monsters they could find. unfortunately, what I see time and time again in less popular tcg's is that the cards don't work well with each other. Most cards have little if any effects that change the course of the battlefield and winners are usually decided by who ever has the most monsters with the highest attack power out, usually reducing all strategy to 3 > 2 so X kills Y. From what you've shown us so far though, this game looks very well made, I have very high hopes for Shadow Era and I can't wait to see it flourish. I hope it develops a really great community, one to share deck strategies, tips and ideas with. I have played many tcg's over the years such as Yugioh and MTG, so if you ever need any ideas for card mechanics or abilities, I would be more than glad to help out.
