This looks really cool, based in the comments gameplay sounds and looks great. The bank messed up my credit card so have to wait couple days to get it...
Wow, very fun. Wasn't sure how it'd control from the vids but feels great to play. Only done a few levels so far but I'm digging this so much. (God my backlog is so crazy even on games I enjoy like this one I can't give a lot of feedback... Oh dear)
Shadow Bug's Content Update Hey guys, we have updated Shadow Bug! The update features 4 new levels and an epic boss fight. Also, Shadow Bug will be on -50% sale this week on the App Store. Checkout the update and grab Shadow Bug from the App Store.
Those are some crazy new levels! Hope to see another batch of factory levels in the next update. The Forest and Sewer environments had 2 Boss stages so far, so I hope factory will be the same? The screenshot you posted for the level Turret is a bit too hard? Sometimes the timing of the rotating saw blades and the lasers are such that there is barely any space to escape the blades and laser after slicing that particular turret that is alive in the screenshot. Sometimes the part with the up and down blade has bad timing with the lasers too, usually when you restart at these zones. I managed to glitch Steel Wheels as well. At the very first part I managed to glitch through the floor at the bottom of the giant laser wheel. Once I fell through all the way to the last part at the left hand side where you have to push a box down the floors. I landed on top of the entrance to this part. I wanted to try to get a new record using this glitch, but i think the rotating laser wheel with both sides with the SIM card and the locked doors doesn't spin because I didn't come from the top. The second time I held on to the left and fell into blue nothingness. I'll get a screenshot if I come across this again. I suspect the high speed fall caused the glitch (I fell all the way after slicing the first robot monster was my way in to the laser circle). Core Guard was hard! But it's also sometimes a little unfair because the mini harmless robots sometimes don't appear after being destroyed by the plasma homing bullets (fun fact: I didn't even know they were homing when I tried many times to complete this level for the first time! ). It's hard to control whether they are destroyed or not because the plasma bullets can't be seen. And then I get killed because there aren't any robots around and I get zapped by the core guard's lasers or the bottom laser.
2nd update in June Thank you for the great feedback! @FBI Light Rock: Thank you also for the specific bug report! We will fix those on the second update. The game will only get harder with the last five factory levels we are working on now. Best, Juha Muro Studios
Environment exploit I found another interesting exploit, this time in the level Gate Tunnel. This environment exploit allowed me to get an almost unbeatable high score of 1:05:46. It's repeatable, so long you have the right timing. It's where you activate the wall to come down for the creepy crawler to climb on so that you can slice it to get above the wall. But when you time it right, when you leave the button to slice the creepy crawler, the wall rises back up and pushes you beyond the ceiling. Using this exploit, you'll need one less creepy crawler to conquer the last barrel ride part, leading to a faster timing. I've got the screenshots this time to prove it: Sometimes it's quite interesting to find glitches and exploits in a game - it makes playing more fun for me actually.
I have managed to replicate the Steel Wheels bug again, and this time i got an insane new unbeatable record with it! Here's the screenshots i got this time round: Just before falling to the eternal void
So close to getting that unbeatable record! (I ended up blocked out by the left side of the wall separating me from the end goal)
Finally! Got that unbeatable record! It was strange how i got it though, i remembered slicing one of the robots before falling straight down to the end goal.
Ermahgerd! 2nd Update coming June 29th! Hi everyone, we are excited about our 2nd update of Shadow Bug! The 2nd update features 4 new levels and the epic final boss fight. With this update the game has 36 levels including 6 boss fights. It's going to be epic! Grab Shadow Bug from the App Store.
Ok, impressions! Awesome update! I really enjoyed some of the later mechanics used! Furnace was not exactly of great interest, its particular highlight was the rising lava, which was a little easy. But the next level Escape was heart pumping! When you thought that you had enough of that Core Guard boss...here comes more hunting you down! Escort also came to my interest as escorting those Techno Muroes was particularly brilliant by sending them over through the platform or keeping their toes away from the lasers or saws. It made hate being the Party Escort Bug though (reference to Party Escort Bot from Portal). And...Laser Tunnels. I was seriously about to complain to the devs how bloody hard this level is and ask them to nerf it, just that last part with the 3 laser tunnels of course. But then i eventually got it after trying and trying and initially, finished the level above 11 minutes. But man, this level is the longest level in the history of shadow bug! Luckily they gave us 6 minutes to get that shuriken to have a bit of time to spare from dying at that last part! The laser tunnels gave me a crazy rush of adrenaline, frantically trying to get out of harm's way. For those stuck at the last part, try not to panic and look at all the flashing lasers before properly making your swap of passageway. Stop or backtrack if you are comfortable with that! This might happen a lot at the last part with saws in the picture as well. I prefer to use the middle path as my main way forward. And why do we have to escort those Techno Muroes across the laser gates...I hate those escort missions... Finally...THE CORE. I found this stage to be easier than Laser Tunnels lol. But I also think it's easier than Core Guard as you don't have to spend all the time in the air and frantically finding for enemies to slice to keep you in the air. Despite that, i think it's a lot more fun than Core Guard. The speed of attack for the Core is more consistent and generally slower. You don't get those cheap deaths like in Core Guard too (From the homing plasma pellets that sometimes seem to appear out of nowhere). The first part took me longer to nail as the lasers have extreme homing abilities and are very deadly, a slight touch at the edge will even kill you. But once you got a sequence nailed, it's quite manageable. The Core itself was easier imo, but you really have to remember that after each intermediate stage (after the mechanical fists punch the floor and break it) those fists will punch again very quickly, so be prepared to slice a Muro out of the cannons! Once you figure out how many times you must slice a Muro to get over the Core to hit it hard as well as how to get past the mechanical fists, it's actually easier. Spoiler When I finished The Core, I was expecting credits to roll. Nothing? I was a little disappointed knowing we should be expecting one from the last teaser screenshot outside the factory. And then suddenly came...another stage?!?! It was an expected closure for the story, but the credits were pretty cute with the humanoid Muroes representing the devs behind the game. But...no additional credits for beta testers? No special thanks? A bit sad for those who helped out in the game...
Special thanks FBI Light Rock Thank you once again for the awesome feedback! You are right that we should add the special thanks. We will add them later. Best regards, Juha Ylimäki - Muro Studios
