I haven't even played it, just remarked on what I am looking for and that I'm not sure this will deliver. I'm sure it's a good game.

  2. Yeah, just got it too. Love the theme and the fun gameplay. It's a cool inexpensive game.

Just finished chapter 1 and so far it's pretty fluid and fun. Running kills are particularly fun to pull off.

Maybe future updates could add more moves to unlock or something to keep players engaged. This just feels like it could use an upgrade system of some sort (auto run kills, different death from above attacks, maybe add shurikens, dual swords, staffs etc...), as well as uniforms that maybe give extra speed or dash, or attack distance etc.

I like what's here and hope that this evolves into something that will hook us in for awhile to come. It's a 5 star with a helpful nudge of future content.

I don't know why the hate. This is one of the best games I've played in a very long time

Definitely. Though I wouldn't classify those comments as "hate"

January isn't even over and I already have two 2014 GOTY nominees on my device (Jet Car Stunts 2 and Shadow Blade)

  7. They haven't played it yet, that's why. Very cool game.

Dang, this game is really stealing the spotlight from Bardbarian. I've been so caught up with playing that that I haven't downloaded this yet. I guess if Echoen has positive impressions I'll give this a download

    The controls/gameplay are super smooth.

I love speed-run platformers but I can't really get into this, the controls aren't terrible but I never feel quite as in control of the character as I do in League of Evil or Mikey Hooks. I think its because there are too many frames of animation; when you stop moving there is a few milliseconds delay until the character responds, and the timing never feels completely smooth. In the vast majority of games it wouldn't be noticeable but in a speed-run game its a pretty big deal because you really need to feel like you are 100% in control of your character at all times.

Also I don't like the attack mechanics; there is no incentive to kill enemies so far, since you can just jump over them and attacking tends to be slower (especially if you don't get a running kill, because then you have to slog it out with the enemy for a few seconds, losing time0.

Also the time limits are too generous, the game just seems far too easy (compared to LoE), although admittedly I''m still on the first chapter). I hope it gets harder later…

Maybe its just me, because everyone else seems to like it.

I'm really loving this game. I have been playing non stop since downloading it this afternoon. There's lots of replay here for me since I'm not worrying about time, I'm concentrating on clearing the levels first. The controls are spot on, I'm using joystick however I have tried the swipe controls and they take a bit of getting used to but will add another level of difficulty for me to master the levels again using them. This game takes me back to fond memories when I used to play Aladdin on my old Sega Genesis. It's like the original Prince of Persia on steroids. I can't wait for content updates to see where this goes. Well worth the price.

Not to derail the thread, but talk of Shadow Blade has reminded me of an upcoming game everyone should take note of, especially if you like this genre. It's called Implosion.

When you see the video, that helps to explain more along the lines of what I'm looking for in terms of combat.

  13. Yeah, me too, just started playing and so far, really enjoying it. I too like most of the others like the virtual controls over the swipe controls.

This gam is my GOTW, it's so amazing. The gfx are really well done, killing enemies is really satisfying. There's a good amount of levels. SFX is amazing as well. 5/5 stars easily, also best of 2014 so far! Keep it up guys.

Anyone trying to 3-shuriken each level before going to the next? I just 3-shurikened level 2-2. Man, that felt like quite an accomplishment! I had everything but the time shuriken, and many play throughs where I kept dying at certain parts, but I finally finished that level without dying and got all three.

Man, this game is so addictive and awesome!

Oh wow, I'm way far behind you! I must have misread that as 2-2.

I first complete a chapter with whatever score I get, then go back and 3-shuriken each level before moving on. I've 100% the first chapter, now I'm working on perfecting 2-1
