Maybe. I wonder what they change. Would be cool if it was Super Meat Boy style, in that the Hard mode adds obstacles and alters the levels a bit to make them more challenging
I beat all of the old and new level but nothing open up though, and I also 3 stars all of Chapter 1-3 and Downtown and nothing happen, Do I have to 3 star Hardcore as well?
Oh wait just notice it, there is 3 new level for Hardcore. There is no difficult mode it's just 3 new levels.
I think there is some confusion - I believe the developer meant to write 3 difficult levels. lol Going to confirm with them. Yes - its 3 hardcore levels. I remember trying to add the word hardcore in iTunes and it doesn't allow you to, so I put difficult. Didn't realize I added a y My bad.
Yeah, might want to fix that. Was kind of excited for three difficulty levels. Oh well, still a nice update!
Okay, all 165 stars down. More levels of platforming perfection, please. Seriously, this is how you do platforming on touch devices. The controls are nigh-flawless. Nothing comes close to this on iOS/Android. The visuals and sound are stupendous, to boot. Really, only thing i want is more levels (i'd pay more for a nice 40 more levels pack) and a lady ninja. And the speed run possibilities here are ENDLESS. This will never leave my device.
The latest update claims to have added iCloud game saves. Has anyone seen this work? My iPhone still doesn't show the progress I've made on my iPad and when I go to manage my iCloud storage ther is no entry for this game.
Nevermind. Found it out. Finished all Levels. Waiting for the new Content. Great game. Was worth the Money.
Is Shadow Blade played only for time and with great expedience (got that impression from somewhere), or can it be enjoyed like a more deliberate, combat-focused platformer as well?
Its based on time and getting to your destination with the least possible deaths - and grabbing the collectibles of course. The enemies are more like obstacles, they're hardly a threat, just something you need to get by quickly. BUT there is a great satisfaction in killing them, idk what it is but I assume its probably being the sick assassination moves that the ninja can pull off. At the end of each chapter though, theres a extra level where it puts you in a small arena (picture a Super Smash Bros arena) with waves of enemies coming at you. If youre hit once the level resets. Sadly... Its not endless. I believe that the levels end when you complete wave 5. That pretty much the most combat you'll get out of the game. But trust me you don't need the combat in the regular levels. The game is perfect. That being said, its focuses more on platforming than combat. I do recommend picking it up though because its probably the best platformer in the AppStore atm its amazing! It has great level design, great animations, great flow, great obstacles, great pacing, and just overall great gameplay. The only downfall to this game is that theres not to many levels (compared to Mikey Shorts, Angry Birds, Bad Piggies). It does leave you wanting more. The folks at Dead Mage did say more is coming soon though
Speed is definitely the priority, with the ability to take out enemies in one quick motion if you time it right. I do find this more enjoyable than say, League of Evil, because the combat is fun and the time requirements aren't ridiculous, so the game is more lenient. That said, speed is definitely the focus of the game, but the combat is quick and fun as well. It's closer to League of Evil than Mark of the Ninja.
