The secrets are the question marks ? on the map, if you see an eye or a mouth on the map you can't open those till you get the matching skill at the end of one of the areas. Some question mark areas have a panel on the wall that will flash as you turn to look/wait for it to flash, if you touch it it will reveal the secret passage or whatever is hidden. It's like Zelda, trial and error and a lot of trying. When you finish The Crow area you get Blind which allows you to open the places with an eye on them, then the mouth one after the next dungeoun. Wasn't sure I was going to get in to this but picked it up on a whim last night and started playing the first area......could not stop playing! So engrossing and the combat is brilliant! Loving the combination of slashing wildly to build focus, working out how to stun and reveal weak spots and timing those finishing blows.....plus the collection/upgrade mechanic - so much fun. Can highly rate - would be awesome if they updated it with a random roguelike mode!
i was thinking about that too. maybe they can add in some dungeons, etc. with random generation. would be awesome. but in this state it is already a masterpiece. i love everything about this game.
Fully agree. I never really liked Guacamelee (I thought the controls were terribly awkward) but this is something else. Thoroughly enjoying it.
This game is pretty awesome. Reviews got me, you guys and girls never let me down ##. Im not good at this game yet but its so much fun!
Finished the story earlier and I don't think I'd play it through again just because it's such a strong single story/event so I'd vote for a rogue too, an endless version would be amazing and possibly goty. Got 100% on the Wilds and a couple missing in the Citadel so might look for those but overall 'done' at around 10hrs personally.

It's a mix between Dungeon Master and Fruit Ninja, with the art direction of Another World, I am enjoying it a lot. Also I liked the easter egg from Monument valley :
