I have around 650 applications in my iTunes library, of which only 200 or so are on my iPod. Do you think you'll be able to sync an iPad with a backup of an iPod Touch? It would really be a pain if you couldn't, I don't want to have to look through and check everything when I could be playing with my new toy.
There will probably be some sort of option to sync across your existing apps onto your iPad. Probably there will be a list and you will be able to tick which standard/iPad apps you want to sync. I doubt there will be an option to use an iPhone/iPod Touch backup though. Oh and apparently the upscaled regular apps look pretty crap on the iPad. You may just want to keep your regular apps for your iPod and your iPad apps for your iPad.
Hehehehe I shall sync ALL of my apps that I currently keep on my iPod! I plan on spending my first hours with my iPad launching every single app and seeing how it plays. I'm really looking forward to seeing if the iPhone keyboard comes up in pixel doubled apps, or the iPad keyboard. I also want to see how Fieldrunners looks, since I bought it at $4.99+DLC, and don't want to pay for it again. They should just charge a $.99 in-app purchase somehow to switch versions. It's not like they have to re-make the entire game from scratch, they already have the map design, AI, some code, all the designs just need to be made higher def... I'll probably be deleting a lot of iPhone apps from my iPad. But I'll have a special page for my iPad specific apps.
