OK, I just followed ya and retweeted! Now that everyone is finished with the GLU giveaway, that should open the floodgates! Or maybe not I dunno...
Option #2 is still in play folks - This hit the front page today: http://toucharcade.com/2010/02/04/spring-fling-free-today/ Indie game... free for a day... Don't make me draw a diagram
Just no. I'm all for Pollywog getting coverage because it is a terrific game, but I'm kind of against this whole "lets make the game free for a day" thing... It's not specifically Pollywog but the sudden rush of limited time free sales. Instead of developers having to compete with a 59p/99c market, they have to compete with free, and that's tough to do. Anyway, if this game does go free I'll certainly post it on Games Uncovered since it's one of the best games I've played it a while. Seriously, if this doesn't go free just support the developer and buy it anyway, it's well worth the money and you get a fun, addictive and beautiful game.
@jak56 I can't afford freeappaday (it's free app, not free participation). @Palfince I generally agree, which is why my games are outrageously priced at $1.99 to begin with! But, when a game totally drops off the radar and barely sells 3 copies a week a dev kinda gets desperate. At this point I really got nothing to loose, but if I do make it free for a day I'm sure as hell gonna leech all the free press I can get out of this high-traffic forum
Yeah, it's a shame that more people haven't discovered how great this game is... I guess putting it free will hopefully help trigger that.
And I see the follower count is only up to 147. Just a tad bit away from the 350 you wanted. I was hopin for a better response from the TA crowd, and maybe a lot of them have or are following, but it would seem to me that it would be higher. Here is disappointment from one member, I would think everyone would love to try another free game. Well not sure how long you're going to wait but here's hoping.
You can afford freeAppCalendar.com though once it is up, since it is free to participate in the daily calendar! Followed you from freeAppCalendar and MindJuiceMedia on Twitter.
It's nice to see a totally free option but it's hard to dive in without seeing some hard numbers. FreeAppADay.com seems to own 100% of this territory right now but competition is always good! Ya me too Although I didn't get the attention of many Touch Arcade users (or the admins), this thread did pique the interest of the folks at FreeAppADay.com - I can't confirm or deny anything just yet but I can say the negotiations are going smoothly
Agreed. We have no numbers at all yet since the site is just a mockup, but getting the visitor numbers up is my goal for the first month. I also have some cool things planned that I think will make freeAppCalendar.com the site of choice for developers and visitors.
