and i was waiting it from 2 hours ago, keep refreshing, and the code was gone when i was typing my password
Sad. I'll never even have a chance here at work. Still wish developers do PMs for codes rather than leave it at the (possible) mercy of lurkers who don't contribute here. Then if there's four codes, the first four PMs get 'em. And the developer can post back here that they're gone (so they don't get bombarded with additional PMs). I know it sounds like sour grapes, but it just always seemed to be a more fair way to do it. This ... "If you manage to grab a code and want to say thanks, leave us some feedback about the game whether on iTunes, in the thread, via email, social media, by smoke signal, whatever. We like hearing about people having fun because of us, and about how we could make things even more fun" ... is generally what you won't get from lurkers. BTW: I wanted to say that I loved the first two games and think Origin8 is one of the best developers on the app store so I'm not slamming you. Just have been cutting back on purchases (yes, even small ones) due to child care costs in the summer so I haven't snagged the third one yet. With or without a promo code, I'll get this game someday. It looks great!
The developers themselves can choose what to do with thieir codes. We already had a conversation about this over a year ago and we decided that it's the developer's choice.
Sorry, wasn't trying to beat a dead horse. It rightfully should be the developer's choice. Just stating my opinion. How many times do you go into a promo code thread and codes are gone without anyone even thanking the developer. Personally, I think that's an insult to the developer. If developer's don't care about getting feedback, then they can list them all they want and take their chances. There's no guarantee thru PMs, of course, but probably a much better chance of getting feedback. There's a flip side to the coin, however, too. No one should be ASKING for a code either unless the developer asks people to post in the thread if they want one. To me, that's also an insult to the developer. Anyway, I'll get off my high horse. Congrats to the people who've gotten the codes. And to Origin8's success.
I've done a lot of high maintenance giveaways in the past, but today's explicitly a free-for-all as stated in the first post.
