Im selling my old ipod touch 2nd gen 8gb to my friend. The thing is I dont know how much to ask for it. I dont want to rip him off but dont want to give it for nothing either. Its over two years old but runs fairly well. THe on/off button can be iffy at times. Any ideas on a price??

    Why so curious?
I think $50 is too low. I recently sold my 2-year old iPod Nano for about $50 on Craig's list. Depending on your iPod Touch's condition (scratches, dings? etc) and accessories included I think $80-$100 is a fair price.

That said, I probably wouldn't buy a 2-year old iPod Touch from a known gamer. The battery on his iPod Touch must be pretty exhausted from daily, perhaps multiple, charging.:D

Mine's about to become redundant too... I wasn't gonna bother asking anyone for money though as I didn't think it'd sell. I'm just gonna keep it for emergencies.

    yes
Look on craigslist, Amazon, and eBay, and base your price on that.

    I'd say about $75.

Obviously it all depends on condition.

-$ if it has scratches on the back
-$$ if it has any scratches on the glass front.
-$ if any of the buttons need to be pressed harder than normal to work. You don't mind it, but someone else will think that it's broken. Most of my friends can't even turn my touch off, though I have no problem.
-$$$ if it is visibly cracked or has any water damage.

+$15 if you sell it with it's original charger and packaging.
+$$ if you offer it jailbroken or unjailbroken. Most people would rather have someone else do it and not worry if something goes wrong.
+$ if you sell it on the most recent firmware.

Well I'm adding some games for him so that's a +$$ but the button is -$$ so I dunno. I think I might go about €30-40 which would come to about $50. Considering I got it for $200, that's not too bad.

Sold mine for $100 (2G/8g). At first I thought it wasn't worthy of a good sale but reconsidered after realizing that although I'd had my use of it someone else who'd never owned one would be willing to buy it.

Well, you realize that means he is going to have to use your account to use your games? Especially with updates
Although, you can just authorize his computer, d/l the ones he wants, then he will have them forever

Throw your soul in and make it a package to sweeten the deal.

i'd say don't sell it. it is clear that you could not fetch a good price. then rather take it along with you or donate it.
