As you may know I have just spent 100 dollars on my own money on a 3GS. Recently, my friend has offered me 500 for it with the same two year contract or 900 jailbroken and unlocked. I am considering his offer since my dad offered me a sweet deal for my birthday gift, As long as I pay for the iPhone 4 itself, he will pay the extra money to re-upgrade the contract. He also said that he wants the money for the early termination fee that I think is about 200$. I am looking at the 32GB iPhone 4 (299$) and am thinking of getting that since I will still have some money left over.

If my friend gives me 500 dollars for the phone while still on a two year contract then I don't have to do the cancellation thingy. If he gives me the 900$ offer I still make some money and end up with brand new iPhone 4!!

    Offer 1: 500$-299$=200$ leftover.
Offer 2: 900$-299-200$ early termination = 400$ leftover (I forgo to mention that I have to pay for my unlimited texting to so you may want add that in as well).
Third Option: Sell 3GS for more money on eBay.
    Fourth Option: Keep 3GS.

So, should I give my friend the 3GS for one of the options and still have money left over and a brand new iPhone 4, should I sell it for more on eBay, or should I just keep my brand new 3GS?

Don't tell your friend this, but you can buy unlocked 3GS's from Apple Australia's website for $719 AUD

Sell the phone to him for $900 and buy an iPhone 4

Are you talking in US or Australian currency?
If it's US you'd be absolutely robbing him, I just struggled to sell my 3GS 16GB for $350. So by all means take the deal, you can pretty much buy an unlocked iPhone 4 for that price.

You won't make more on eBay.

My friend realized they sell them for way cheaper somewhere else, oh well.
