I desperately need an organizer app that'll help me with scheduling, managing (tagging and categorizing) appointments, and to-do lists. I'm willing to pay $10 for such an app. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Idk about Google cal sync, but 2Do is basically the best organizer app I've come across. And its on sale for $4 still [I think]
I just did a bunch of research. 2Do is really really nice, but I think I might require something a little stronger for my work. SmartTime has a lot of great features, but, from what I've read in reviews, it has problems with stability and speed. The one task manager that really stands out to me is the Pocket Informant. It costs as much as Chaos Rings, but I think I might get it if I can't find something cheaper.
I almost bought Pocket Informant until I realized 2Do had all of the features I needed (calender view, integration with the iPhone contact list, and syncing). 2Do is an amazing piece of software. It has officially replaced my Google Calendar, and I use it for all scheduling and tasks. I HIGHLY recommend it.
I must say, SmartTime Pro is my go to organizer. It is amazing, and I have no problems with speed or stability with it. If I am dangerously low on RAM it sometimes goes white after adding an event or tast, but it doesn't erase it or anything. I just reboot it and it's fine. But like I said, that's if I am backgrounding like 2 apps and havnt cleared anything and I am only on a 2nd gen iPod touch JB. You should have no problems. And it has GCal Sync... But sounds like you found what you needed =D
I was recently in a mild apartment fire. This app saved my ass. I didn't have to miss more than a day of scheduling / coordinating. Thanks again.
2do is probably the best todo app when it comes to features (it even has a built in voice recorder!) and UI, but I'm a GTD'er and prefer to use ToDo synced through Toodledo along with Google Calender synced through my iDevices. I just wish 2Do featured native contexts
http://www.evomend.net/en/what-not-gtd-context It's basically a separate category from tags which Toodledo.com and ToDo offers.
That's the problem I had with the free versions. SmartTime (SmartTask) and Pocket Informant were my top choices, but the reviews for SmartTime, and the price for Pocket Informant, frightened me! Lol. But if SmartTime works well enough to satisfy most users, it must not be that bad. Yes I have. Isn't that like multiple calendar types 2Do offers though? I have one calendar for work, another for casual, etc, and I can either view the tasks within 1 calendar, or the tasks in all of them.
Yes Calenders can also work as Contexts synced through Toodledo but it also functions as lists at the same time which I need. Just like in this chart http://www.getrichslowly.org/images/gtdworkflow.gif I unload a bunch of information out of my head each day and put them into 5 different lists; Next Action (anything that can't be done instantly but will do next) Waiting/On hold, Projects (anything that requires multiple steps to do), Someday and Reference. It's a different way of keeping my life organized, but it works for me
Well that's good, things worked out, np. Btw, I just discovered this the other day, but apparently 2Do syncs with iCal, because when I open iCal, there's a pane on the right side with all my todos. Pretty nifty.
I really want a nice application like 2Do, but that price tag just scares me...it has push notifs correct?
Yes, I see 2Do options for sounds and alerts in push notifications. Give the lite version a try. It has many of the functions the full version has. And don't forget to turn it sideways to see the calendar view.
alright. haha I just feel like there are simplier options out there for me, but this one looks so good. will report back soon!
