    I saw an update in the App Store. I almost freaked out, I was so excited. I go in... And see it's just Google Chrome. :mad:

    Some good news and bad...

    The lags/missing gates in games is fixed...plus if you need a steady amount of coins, the lighthouse will provide that if you do the quest every day and pearls every 5th day. Same with garbage collecting (similar payout). Downside for garbage is that you have to drag all of them 1 at a time into the disposal vs X at a time like some quests!! Why???

    Now the bad - most of the items like directing town council requires pearls. And for those who bought an upgrade to the cook in village will be unhappy to know that there is another cooking place in the Thieves Den for same cost of 50 pearls (cost of admission to get into Den). So if you haven't spent the 50 pearls to upgrade in Larido Village, use the 50 on the Den!!

    Sadly even the Chinese New Year masks cost pearls. Nor is there any indication when those masks will disappear either.

    I think telling folks the update will allow you to change the day and then charge pearls for it is a definite blatant money grab since some folks can't play during the day. As for pearls for the other items not sure if they are worth it or not (waiting for Doza to open, so someone who isn't waiting probably can comment better about spending pearls at council vs on a project).

    Hey folks,

    Great to see some of you have already got the update. A few more fixes got in there (including the 6+ issue, a better drop rate for rock golem pieces and more).

    This release continues to focus on improving the experience for players earlier in the game, but we're hard at work on 1.5, which is a *huge* release and includes a whole new sea region (3 islands) and the next chapter in the story. We'll have more information in the coming days, but hope you enjoy the new content in today's release!

    Cheers,
    Simon (HandCircus)

    That update list again is..

    * CREW BADGES!
    - Every pair of glasses, hat and outfit now comes complete with special badges. Collect sets of badges to enable amazing powers.
    - Crew powers include more plentiful fish, faster crafting times, more sailing tokens and more!

    * ISLAND BADGES!
    - Every bit of furniture and island decorations have special badges too. Collect sets of badges to boost your trading power.
    - Sell those Golden Pikes, Dark Gnome Hands, and culinary masterpieces even quicker!

    * COUNCIL MANDATES!
    - Tell those villagers what to do! Issue Council Mandates and they will follow your commands.
    - Lower those shop prices, reduce construction time, get more frequent quests, and have more rapid crop cycles!

    * DAILY JOBS!
    - A new special type of quest offers bigger rewards, and the reward increases every day you come back!
    - Ever dreamt of being a lighthouse keeper? Now’s your chance! Come back every day for ongoing maintenance.
    - Time to clean up! Seabeard needs a garbage collector – it might now be glamorous but it is rewarding!

    * SMUGGLERS DEN!
    - Smugglers now have their own club on Dorado Mine, and you are invited to join.
    - Get access to more smuggling missions, a limited edition mask, and an additional cookomatic!

    * CHINESE NEW YEAR!
    - Visit the stall on Larona Village to buy specially themed accessories and costumes.
    - Collect the Dragon Dance masks to turn your crew into an amazing dancing dragon!

    * BUG FIXES GALORE!
    - Stuttering Minigames have been resolved! No more missing that gate or squid target.
    - Fix for iPhone 6+ users that experienced a black screen on startup.

    Update is AWESOME! Curious to see if the Lighthouse gets more difficult each day :)

    What does the glowy thing mean when I shake a tree or bush?

    And what do I do to upgrade a specific badge such as speeding up selling times?

    No comment :)

    That means the relevant badge is active and the tree or bush will regenerate quicker.

    Get your crew and pets to wear clothing that contains the badges that you need. The crew screen shows active badges.

    The badge are far more useful than I thought they might be. I have the cooking time decreased level up badge. Fruit juice takes 20% less time to make and tomato soup takes 30% less time to make :eek:. I wonder if level 2 would double that? And you don't have to use mask all. All clothing increases something. My current crew is 2 people and a dog. I got level 2 monster respawn, level 1 cook time decreased and tree and bush respawns. And only got 1 mask on and two of my hats slots aren't helping anything yet.

    It sucks that mandating cost pearls but it's not too bad. The late night animals only cost 50 pearls a month. If you just log in each day you can afford it. If you just do the light house each day you can afford it (it gives 60 pearls a month). I think the trash collecting is the same but man is that tenuous.

    Most of the Chinese New Year stuff does cost pearls but I found the monster respawn suit to be very useful and only cost 300 gold.

    And smugglers cove is nice too. An extra cooking machine is easily worth 50 pearls, but two extra smuggling missions a day is pretty nice as well.

    I totally agree! I thought they'd be something hokey, but they make the game easier and much more fun! I am also surprisingly really enjoying the garbage collecting, and the lighthouse repairs. I don't mind at all that some things cost pearls. They are "extras" -- not things needed to do the game, and this game is very generous at giving us this premium currency for free. I also LOVE that the mini-sailing games no longer have a stutter. I just won my first hard slalom game!

    A super game update on a game already extremely well done. Thank you, HandCircus!!! :)

    Thank you for responding:)

    One other thing that might apply to others as well.

    I have a stuck quest. Ethel Bullhorn asked me to give her a monster hand. I got a monster hand and accidentally sold it. This was at least over two weeks ago. The quest stays in the quest bar with a green check but I have no hands to give her and haven't been able to get another one.

    Ideas?

    Sorry about this - we are aware of this bug and realise it is annoying that the quest doesn't go away! It is on our list - hopefully we will fix for 1.5

    Just for reference, I have a level 2 fish selling totem pole via the remaker. it took the sell time for a Golden Perch from 20 mins to 12 mins. So from that each level is 20%. As to if that is the fact for every level for each level ,I don't know but at least there is a starting point to see if that is the case.

    Am a little bummed that the totem pole has to be inside a house vs outside. Again why?? Makes sense to have totem poles outside. (Edit...archaeon column but sure looks like a totem pole in nature..same question still applies!)

    Sadly don't have a monster respawn suit to purchase, only dragon items for me. So can't compare it with the mask you get in daily login.

    One minor issue with these new clothing, You can see the icon and number in inventory screen but unable to see what that icon does/mean. Be nice to view that from inventory than via the crew screen.

    Was hoping there be more rewards to do, or at least get some of them refreshed, namely selling fish, taxi and smuggling.
    Or perhaps a hidden reward that like after 10k fish sold you get some zany item..as one example.

    And please don't promise the Doza update like this one which took about 1.5 months to get out.

    I think you Cat tap on the icon below the clothing and a pop up will tell you.

    Good update, still dying for Doza and new levels though. Can't wait!

    I have an outfit that has a badge that says it makes my boat refuel quicker? What does that mean?

    Well the next version definitely does have Doza Seas in, you can take my word for it :) Sometimes things can take a little longer than planned as we want to make sure that there are no bugs that could break a player's save data so it is worth being extra careful. The next update is looking great and is the biggest update that we've created by a *long* way. As it features a whole new culture (new *everything* from pets, buildings, recipes, costumes and much more) it has been quite a lot of work. There are also new special buildings for your home island, new quests for the early sea regions, and more. We'll post more details in the coming week.
