They have been spotted just about everywhere if you can't find them it might have to do with your level but keep looking they show up eventually
Regarding porcupines...They seem to show up on weekends in the Mines, on the far right side of the island, so you have go thru a few gnomes to get to it.
Bad rock golem part drop Is it just my. Bad luck or is the drop rate on rock golem parts really low? I can clear the whole temple, and get no parts... And now I need to build three scardey statues, which means 9 parts. It could take weeks at this rate.
Why the "need to make 2,500 quickly"? It's a game. Enjoy the process. Unless you only have enough game-play time in your day to fish, definitely invest in recipes -- and do it early on. While the investment in recipes makes things a bit slower to start, it makes it faster, easier, and more fun later. Down the road a bit you'll never have to worry about having enough coins, you'll increase in level faster because you can participate in more quests, and you'll have a nice variety to the fishing activity. Regarding which recipes to get, I'd suggest you start with the less expensive ones and then work your way up. So yes, apple juice is a good one to start with.
Pistol1, an additional thought to which recipes to learn first. Start with ones with readily available ingredients (like apple juice and fruit punch), and low processing / sales time. The fish chowder produces 100 coins, but it not only occupies your cooking pot for 2.5 hours, it then takes up a slot in your food stall for 5 hours. So perhaps don't start there. They are pretty plentiful. Not sure what islands but I see them all the time now. I'm also level 2 for fishing.
I just got my archeologist and the npc told me how I could put the items I find w/ the archeologist in a museum or sell it with the ancient stall thing. Is there actually a museum I can put these items? Or was it just a transition to build a trader house?
Something that makes collecting the rock golum parts go faster is to go through the temple twice a day. The rock golems return 12 hours from when you last fought them, so you could try to schedule accordingly. For example, I did it at 7:00 am and 7:00 pm every day. (The dark gnomes also return 12 hours from when one last fought them, in case anyone is wondering.)
That's great info, thanks! What are the raw materials required for the second crew house? Saving up for the blueprints now I've built the Manor, I have plenty of materials stashed in the warehouse.
Definitely do some basic math when you are planning your recipes. For example fish stew cost 500 gold to buy. However you only get 27 extra gold compare to selling the ingredients by themselves. That means it takes 18.5 stews before you even earn a single extra gold. So in the long run it is worth it. But it means more than half of month of constant stew making before you can make money. Where as apple juice gives you a extra 14 gold worth of sales but only cost 100 gold for the recipe. That comes out to 7.1 apple juice before you start making profit. You usually get close to enough apple to make two juices a day. So within 4-6 days you will be making money. And never buy the blue apple juice recipe! It is never profitable compare to making grog.
Plus also the fact that grog is made in a different place than the other recipes. But yes don't buy the blue Apple juice recipe...ever!
Anyone have an idea of when the "storm" will clear so I can get into Doza waters? It's been two days so far, Rudolph is being an a-hole.
Does anyone know in what pattern the fish respawn? For example, does a particular fish slot refill at six hour periods? Or does an island fill with a certain number of fish at six hour periods? Or is there some other pattern?
It works on a "per fish" basis. For example, assuming the 6 hour respawn, you have about 6 fish on an island. Behind the scenes, I assume the fish chance every 6 hours. If you fish one fish on the island as soon as it changed, and two fish three hours later, there will be 3 fish left. Three hours later, regardless if you're on the island, the fish you caught will spawn (you can see it happen if irc, but the fish won't change?) and the two other fish will be off cycle for 3 hours, starting in 3 hours from the first fish spawning back. That may sound confusing so just ask if you need me to clear it up.
