I did not get any barrels or tree removers for almost two months, and then suddenly was able to buy three and won two more within two weeks. It seems to be very random. I had almost stopped playing the game entirely before I suddenly got lucky. I have bought some recipes so that I can process most of the stuff I collect, like mushrooms, berries etc, because the processed food will always be worth a bit more that the raw materials. I have bought barrels and tree removers for 600 and sometimes 1000 gold, if I remember correctly. Also, the upcoming trader houses, crew houses, repairs, and blueprint are pretty expensive. For example, I currently have to pay 3500 to repair the warrior academy and 3000 to buy the blueprint for the 4th trader house. So it might be worth to save a bit of money for the future. Screws, reinforced wood, and stone fish for sure. Also, I vaguely remember needing spiked wood at one point. I might have forgotten something, but I think you can get all the other stuff pretty easily.
When is it possible to build the next part of the island (i.e. the bit on the right just above the fisherman house)?
When you purchase extra cooking space, it queues up the item. When I purchased it I thought (silly me) that it would cook both items at once.
I think he thought that when he bought the recipe that he could do both recipes at the same time. That is how I read it...
I need honest opinions here. Is this game fun enough to not pour money into yet without waiting for the timers to expire? I am looking for a fun animal crossing experience (which I can play the ds version on my note 4) and willing to give this a shot. But I know when the game launched people found the game annoying to wait around to do stuff, and that's with improvements from the beta.
Wait, so when you buy extra slots for the cooking machine (or for the saw, windmill, etc.) are you saying that it doesn't process both items at the same time with timers going for each item (regardless of what each item is) and that all it does is put the second item in a queue until the first item is done? That totally sucks! When you buy more slots for your mongers it sells those items simultaneously with different timers for each item, so I don't understand why the machines aren't the same. Maybe the devs looked at it like its just one machine, but that's just crazy after asking for 50 pearls for the extra slot. Then again I've only paid for the special offer so far (b/c it was a coins and pearls combo that was cheaper than just the separate deals offered).
A couple of weeks ago I posted that I had bought the extra cooking slot, was disappointed to find that it just added to a queue, and for others here not to make the same mistake. After using the queued slot though, I admit that I do find it helpful. If you're doing a lot of recipes every day you can just dump a bunch of ingredients over there and forget about it while you go off to do other things (like, real life.) Having a longer time between the need to refill makes it easier for time management. Also, it gets stuff out of your inventory bag and warehouse. So, while I would rather have the different cooking slots work concurrently rather than consecutively, working consecutively still does help.
I seem to be stuck, my warrior guy needs an upgrade but so far I can't repair the academy. I'm level 8, already have fishing academy, already did the manor and the rambling letters quest from Amelia Quickblade etc. when do more islands open up, and when can my warrior be upgraded so I can get golem dust?
Antiques Trader House So I've been quite fortunate to be able to proceed in the game by obtaining the desired prizes needed in mini games (dynamite, tree removers, etc) to expand my island at a decent pace (which seems to be easier once you have more than the starting islands due to more routes to switch between to get what you want). I've used a very small amount of pearls if I was missing an item for a couple days and broke down b/c I just wanted the game to move forward. However, I think I've hit a major wall in the game that will possibly take quite a while to move past unless I break down and buy pearls (but I'm not doing that just yet). The problem is with the building of the Trader House for the Antiques Stall monger, which requires the following: 2 Rock Golem Powders - 3 rock golem pieces EACH 1 Rock Plank - 2 wood planks (got) and 1 rock golem powder 1 Purple Paint - no problem (got) 2 Narwhal Horns - no problem (got) That means you need 9 rock golem pieces total There are only 2 rock golem guys that you can beat every 12 hours to see if they just so happen to drop it (2 days now and I've only gotten 1 piece). So, I thought I would test with that 1 piece at the windmill to see how many pearls it would take to do 1 of the 3 needed rock golem powders; it was 1 rock golem piece plus 25 pearls! This wouldn't be a problem if you could access the whole Archeon Temple prior to building the Trader House b/c there would probably be more Rock golems to fight to see if a piece could be obtained quicker. However, it looks like Dr Cornelius won't give you the key to unlock the gate in the middle of the temple until you've "helped" Alistair McCubbin by completing the Antiques quest (buy the stall, build the house, hire the monger). I have almost identified 25 items (so my Archaeologist will be ready for level 2 if the house ever gets done) but I can't sell or put any of them in a museum so it's just a waste
I was enjoying the game, but it just took to long to do not a lot. The carrots just not close enough for me...some gems do it just right and get money out of me...this one failed. Really to bad, its a great game.
Thank you, so i need to wait for Sunday then. By the way, I'm currently hiring my archeologist and asking me to make tropical juice, what's next after that so I can prepare early on. Thanks..
I think you need to repair the warrior academy first and then Amelia Quickblade will give you the map.
My mini game is weird.. I've only played Dangerous Water once with Easy levelever since I first play and now I only get "hard" level every time. Meanwhile for other games are still random between easy, med and hard...
I realised, after upgrading my warrior.. I was able to fight the rock golems and get 2 rock pieces. Previously it was only 1 rock piece every 12 hours.. I've upgraded my warrior twice, thus now I'm able to get 3 rock pieces every 12 hours. Give it a try, upgrade your warrior and see if it works for you the same way it did for me.
I found the porcupine at Bullhorm Farm on Tuesday abt 10pm. Here's what I noticed.. When someone sents you a quest to take a picture of an animal or a bird, strangely the "animal/bird" disappears and will only reappear in the last 2 hours before the quest ends. I had this issue when someofthe characters asked me to take a picture of a bullfinch, a pigeon, a brown rabbit and a squirrel.. Strangely, these birds/animals disappear from their common places when I accepted their quests requests.
