Kind of random each time you log in. Then during a session, each sea path (and direction) will be fixed with the same game until u log out. Blue apple's are rare drops from shaking apple trees. The devs should consider recolor the apples that visually appears on the tree... Green on green is kinda...
You get a tree remover from doing one of the main quests that leads to the Swap Shop. I've just managed to save the 1800 coin for my warehouse, but have now found out that need several other items too: 4 planks, purple paint, 4 stonefish and sawdust.... better get saving that driftwood!
I don't know if certain trees give blue apples more than others, but I've found the one on Woodcutt Island (directly opposite where you dock your ship) has given me 3 blue apples in a row. Also, I leave the apples on the floor until I actually need them so that they don't waste inventory space.
Profit in crafting I seem to be misunderstanding something... It seems that I can sell a crafted item, like pancakes for the same price (80) that it costs to make the item... Isn't crafting meant to be used to make money?
Btw, I *think* I may have found a workaround for the lag during the medium/hard sailing mini-games - log off your gamecenter. I figured in order for you to be able to 'seamlessly continue playing on another iThing if using same gamecenter profile', the games would be uploading progress online quite frequently. I guess that's what made my game stutter, especially during the mini-games. Anyone else can try and see if it's not just me?
I was confused about that too. Crafting items is free! The 1st recipes I learned were those that use ingredients that are the most common - like apple juice, fruit juice, mushroom soup. Selling the components separately are only 1 or 2g each, but together are many times more. It definitely multiplies your very sorely needed income! Also gives you something to do when the fish go dry. btw, learning recipes is always 5 times the price you sell them for. So apple juice is 100g to learn, but it sells for 20g each. The warehouse makes crafting much easier, because you can store items (like a bunch of tomatoes) until you have everything for a recipee rather than having to equip it in a valuable personal inventory slot.
My wife and I are enjoying the game but like others are finding progress slow. If we were to spend real money on iaps, can anyone advise on what would be the minimum necessary to reach a point where no additional iap would be needed? I don't mind spending on a game of this quality but would like some idea of what the iap would do for me and if I will need to keep spending to progress.
Retro Nug, did you ever figure out why your house was coming soon? Sorry if I'm replying wrong, I'm new to this forum... Forum's in general, really.
I bought the intro pack of 300 gold + 50 pearls (and aan elf suit... who cares), and used the pearls to make my pack bigger... I had already made the fish and food vendor by that stage. Following the main quest, I went and build the swap shop, since I didn't want to throw away any of the cosmetic rewards i had gotten. I then went and built the warehouse. I am now working towards the main quest of building the manor. My current frustration is I also need to by a party member house (warrior quest) and another house for the woodwork vendor guy (other quest guy on my island), and I have nowhere to build it, and haven't found any tree or boulder removing potions, just root remover and rock remover.
Nope. I finally just spent a pearl to get a blur apple to continue that questchain, so I moved on for now but it still says "coming soon". Maybe I need to build the wood stall first. My Swap Shop is currently 25 minutes from completion.
Yea, I already have the wood stall. My next quest with Alastair McCubbin is to build another trader house. It says I have to buy the blueprints. But they're, sadly, still coming soon. I don't have a spot to put it, I don't think. Maybe that's it
I thought the same thing but it was still coming soon after I cleared a spot. Its back up to buy now after I built the swap shop tho.
I'm gonna just come right out and say it. I despise the fishing. It isn't fun in the even teensiest tiniest way. I just spent five minutes trying to reel in one fish. One. And then he crossed that freakin' unhappy face line and got away. If I didnt need the fish to make money I would never fish again. The mechanism is way too frustrating. I don't mind trying to hit the fish to hook it and missing. Kind of like AC but this whole reel and fight thing is way too annoying and frankly, not fun. It's making me dislike the game a bit.
I kick the fishing arse. Only lost maybe 3 to snapping the line, and one bastard crossed the sad face because he wouldn't stop freaking out the entire time. lol I do also agree that the fishing mechanics could be made better. Has anyone bought a kennel and a pet yet? I kinda been wanting to buy Mr. Bacon. I wanna know if the pet can follow you around on the other islands.
I follow all the rules of fishing and am SOOL. Maybe it's because I'm in the quest where you need 15 fish ? I didn't have this much trouble in the first day and now it's become really annoying. My daughter has the cat and she says it follows her around wherever she goes. She also says it has a sniffing "thing" but she doesn't know what it does. Lol. I want mr. Bacon too but I'm holding off for a few tweaks or to see if I get too frustrating and end up flouncing. I also wish the swap shop had the option to sell whatever you want not just the furniture etc. I can see that being way more helpful to friends. Right now I think we are all trying to unload the same items. ^.^
If you hit the X button before the fish reaches the sad face line, you can try for him again immediately. Once he gets away (over the line) he's gone for a long time. BTW, the same fish displays different degrees of feistiness (if that's a word) each time he's caught. So if they are really wild, I just stop & try again. Re:the pets - I have a cat & he follows me everywhere, which is very cute! I think they serve a purpose, because you can see he has XP like you and your other crew members. My cat hasn't gained XP yet, so I guess I'm not far enough yet to see what he's for. Mr Bacon looks like a fine sea-worthy fellow to me. Good luck with the fishing!
