guys at handcircus i love your work. all of the games you've made have awesome visual style, art direction is perfect and cute. but i just don't get it, WHY you, dudes, just can't add a one-time purchase for this game? this is just a (Mod - Trying to get round the swear filter) optional thing, you know. i will buy it for sure, but many of others don't. and this is perfect for you guys, i think. because rare person will spend more than 20$ anyways. so, think about it guys. i never believe to that you lose some money or "gamers" from adding this "one-time" purchase.
Why don't you have a Freemium and premium for those who want it and are willing to pay upfront? It just doesn't make sense as its a win win situation for devs. I hate timers and 99% of games with timers I delete. Or even an in app full purchase so you get the exposure as well as the sales? I've got time and I just don't want to play a game with timers. I'll be deleting this now but definitely will purchase if and when it goes premium.
^ careful. Eli gonna pop his head up and start talking his nonsense soon. DONT U DARE SAY UR GONNA DELETE A GAME THAT HE LIKES!!!
I'm really enjoying it so far! If definitely needs just a one time purchase. I know freemium is the way to go these days but I'd definitely throw down 10$ for the game. ( if everything was unlocked )
We live in a world where well-reasoned arguments backed up by actual sales and usage data is considered nonsense. It kind of explains a lot regarding the current state of things, not even specifically related to video games.
Majority of players (and no, ta forums are not a majority) prefer casual free games. Look at TAs newest article, a great artistic Dev is bowing out because they couldn't make money on their "premium" game. Most devs don't have the name recognition or publisher support to bounce back, so why wouldn't you as a dev use F2P? If people stopped downloading free and were willing to pay PC or console prices, then the App Store would be a different place. Consumerism. One word movie explains current state affairs. Idiocracy. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/ V/r Woodrith
The only thing I can't stand is when I'm in the middle of something on an island and I go to text someone or something quick, it has top reload and you start at the beginning of the island again. Please fix this do you just start of where you left off.
I feel like I'm missing something - as far as I can tell, there is nothing for me to do in this game at the moment (and there hasn't been all day). I have one quest that requires a blue apple - I have shaken all the trees multiple times, there are no blue apples. I have another quest that requires red paint. Red paint requires tomatoes - according to the sign by the vegetable patch, there aren't any tomatoes today. I have another quest that requires worms - I don't have any idea where to find these, I haven't seen any. I have another quest that I can't do because it gives a piece of clothing as a reward, and there doesn't appear to be anywhere to put clothing - I've already thrown away two items of clothing (that I had to buy for quests) as there isn't much inventory space. I'm familiar with games with timers, but I've not seen a game where it's not possible to do anything at all (other than catch and sell fish and run around shaking trees which don't drop blue apples) for over 30 hours - I got the red paint quest last night after the vegetable patch had closed, there won't be tomatoes until tomorrow. Have I just been very unlucky with the timing of the quests I've got? Also the vegetable patch is closed, and has been for the last few minutes at least. It's currently 19:24. It says it closes at 8pm?
I for one, enjoy games with timers. It allows for the experience to last much longer and it feels like in a strange way I have progressed much more than I have in reality. It gives you a sense of something to look forward to. So far, Seadogs has been a very enjoyable experience for me. Just my opinion.
They are fairly rare, but you'll find one eventually. I'm waiting for this one too. Tomatoes are available tomorrow. I'm struggling with the strawberries though. [/QUOTE]I have another quest that requires worms - I don't have any idea where to find these, I haven't seen any. I agree with this one. It should be possible to get clothing without wasting inventory space. There should be some other quests available from time to time, like transporting people between islands. I've only found one so far. I've also had several smaller quests, like delivering mini game rewards, fish, etc. I just take it as a casual game, like most other freemium games. I check in a few times throughout the day, do what I can and leave it be for later.
Is your iPhone getting hot? I've noticed that this game makes my 6 plus pretty warm after about 5 minutes of playing. Anyone else notice this?
Thanks, I didn't realise there was ever anything under non-fruit bushes. I have two worms now, but that doesn't help at all, as the chickens are asleep and there appears to be no way of waking them up... I've never seen a freemium game that has timers that are like as this one - a 30 hr timer (for the tomatoes) soon after starting the game? And if I was working my normal hours tomorrow, I wouldn't be back home until after 19:00, which appears to be when the vegetable patch closes (despite what the sign says), so I'd have to wait until Saturday to get the tomatoes... Given that during the week I will not often be able play this before 19:00, which appears to be when the animals go to sleep and the vegetable patch closes, realistically this game is going to be unplayable for me isn't it?
I really want to like this game, but you hit a wall pretty early on. Like someone else said on here, you pretty much can only fish and shake trees in the beginning. And good luck getting the items you need to do anything. Then when you do get those items you have to make space by deleting other items. I even paid for an inventory upgrade. I feel like something needs to be done to boost the player experience in the beginning of the game. To go for 2 days of playing and still only have a fish trading stand, a food stand that I can't employ, and a house blueprint that I can't build because no driftwood is anywhere and no tomatoes exist today for the red paint, it is pretty ridiculous. I feel like I'm going nowhere in this game fast. I'm used to freemium games, but normally you can go a little while longer before hitting a wall like this.
I wouldn't call that a timer, seeing as if you started playing tomorrow, you'd have the tomatoes available the same day. It's like Animal Crossing. Sure, some days might be inconvenient for you, like the fact that you're away till 19:00, but imagine people who have to go to bed before it gets dark, not being able to fish for Stonefish. The farm shouldn't close until 20:00, so you should be able to get your tomatoes.
My suggestion: Shorter respawn times, having fish, bushes and other collectibles spawn more often. I've spent ages looking for driftwood and strawberries.
That's why most games with a day/night cycle have a day lasting an hour or so, not 24. For example, LoZ: Wind Waker, which this game is heavily inspired by, has a day/night cycle which influences which characters are awake etc, but that lasts less than an hour I believe. Plus you can change it with a song. The farm closed at 19:00. My iPad knew it was 19:10, the game knew it was 19:10, and it was closed. I have no idea why. It's a shame, this does seem like it could be fun, if a few things were fixed.
